Hi.
I've posted a few threads recently, trying to find some support for repairing my dvd plugin.
I used to be able to play all sorts of DVDs, now nothing works.
I can play some DVDs, with menus, with Xine and can play most DVDs, without menus, with mplayer - so I assume my libdvdcss and libdvdread are still ok.
The DVD plugin fails though.
All I get is: libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 0.1.10 from http://dvd.sf.net libdvdnav: DVD Title: BBCDVD1733 libdvdnav: DVD Serial Number: 32ed6273 libdvdnav: DVD Title (Alternative): libdvdnav: Unable to find map file '/home/vdruser/.dvdnav/BBCDVD1733.map' libdvdnav: DVD disk reports itself with Region mask 0x00f50000. Regions: 2 4 ./runvdr.sh: line 40:2280 Aborted
Can anyone help??

Hi Simon, it's just a shot in the dark, but from the above line I'd say that setting the region code under the DVD-Plugin-Setup to 2 or 4 would help greatly. After that things should work just fine. It might also be a DVD-ROM firmware "problem". In that case just google for "RPC1".

Thanks for your reply, but it didn't seem to help.
I've now used regionset to set my drive to '2', the disc is a '2' and VDR is also set for '2' and VDR still crashes..............
Here's what I get when VDR plays the disc:

It turns out something else had failed here - unrelated to dvdcss and dvdnav
Something had changed within vdr
I was running a standard vdr-1.4.0 with a patch to make it work on an NTSC-only TV.
the dvd plugin was working for ages, but failed around the time I installed VLC, when I started getting the errors below.
I cleaned up my libdvd* libraries and the tried cleaning and re-making VDR several times, with no luck. As a test, I ran up vdr-1.3.46 (ALWAYS keep a previous working version!!) and the dvd plugin was still working fine under that version.
I've now installed vdr-1.4.1, with all my plugins, and everything is perfect (apart from a vdr-xine problem). I'm also happy to see vdr-1.4.1 has some auto-sensing on the NTSC front now too - so I don't need my NASTY patch!!!
Thanks
