got another issue with 1.3.27. Whenever epg.data is larger than about 6 MBytes, vdr will not start reliably. It will attempt to read epg.data, sit for a while, then restart, and loop.
Tested it again and went back to 1.3.26.
This one crashed vdr-1.3.27. As soon as I moved it away, vdr-1.3.27 came up reliably. -rw-r--r-- 1 vdr video 5162967 Jul 21 07:45 epg.data.O
this one killed 1.3.26. Moving it away ... you get the idea.

Is there a reliable way of truncating epg.data if it gets too large?
Is there? Should I truncate it to zero each time I start vdr?
Woudn't it be a better idea to try to find out what's _really_ causing this? Truncating the file merely cures the symptoms...

Granted, you are abolutely correct. My problem is I haven't enough insight in the streamdev source code, and not enough time to dive into it deep enough to find a cure. Hence my question who's currently taking care of streamdev. Sascha seems to have abandoned it. I'd like to help as good as I can.
