Hi,
I'm trying to get DD/AC3 *properly* working with vdr and my reciever a Marantz SR5600.
I'm using the VDR with the current Firmware (F22623) for my FF ttpci-dvb card. The SPDIF-Signal comes from J2 and goes to a Marantz SR6300. All Dolby material (DTS/DD/AC3) i've found yet works flawlessly (only small problem is the slow switch of the receiver when the signal) in VDR, mplayer[-plugin] and dvd[-switch]-plugin. So, have you tested the most current driver and firmware for your FF card?
current FW: http://www.suse.de/~werner/test_av-f22623.tar.bz2
Does using the bitstreamout plugin help in any way?
I never testet bitstreamout, but i guess it might improve your situation (depending on your soundcard).
best regards, Alex :)

The DD/AC3 stream is there allright but the reciever doesn't detect it properly. One other poster said:
The FF cards can't output a true raw DD stream but have to encapsualte the DD data within a PCM stream.

I've tested with several versions of the fw but no difference in terms of audio.

Did you tell your receiver that it is supposed to use digital sound input on the specific port you are using?
Mine has two digital inputs, optical and coax. And I had to configure what input (like CD, STB, TAPE etc.) uses which optical input.
Hope that helps.
Bye, B.

Hi Benjamin Yes I've defined what digital input the TV selector should use for sound. The sound works OK the only thing is that the receiver doesn't select DD as sound selector. I've double checked that specifik input with the output of a regular DVD player which properly sets up the DD decoder.
