Hello!
A new release of the configurable LNB-sharing patch for VDR 1.3 is available at: http://xn--ltzke-jua.de/dvb/VDR_LNB_sharing_patch/configurableLNBshare-VDR_1...
Changes: - includes DiSEqC support - started internationalization: English, German and French (thanks to Olivier Labuere) texts included
The DiSEqC support might still need testing - I do not have DiSEqC hardware myself. The further developement depends on your feedback.
For general information about the LNB-sharing patch have a look at: http://xn--ltzke-jua.de/dvb/VDR_LNB_sharing_patch/Description.txt http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/LNB-Sharing-Patch (german)

I haven't tested this version, I run now your BETA2 which has diseqc support. What's this DiSEqC support exactly ?
BETA2 seems to work great, with my system (DiSEqC 2.0 connected to Astra and Hotbird, two of them with one connected to first DVB, and second one connected to second one, which has loopthrough connected to third DVB).
Thank you very much for your patch :-)

Just the same DiSEqC-support as in BETA2 but with a cleaner code.
BTW: I am still looking for a possibility to use "class cDiseqcs" from diseqc.h in device.h. Any oo-programming expert here to help me?

OK, I should have said it better : what's the DiSEqC-support in BETA2 ?
Thanks for Your feedback.
I'll do any test you would like with pleasure :-)
I am very happy to not have to "build" another connection to the dishes...

In short: If DiSEqC is activated within VDR the patch now uses all necessary information from diseqc.conf for its algorithm. When deactivated the patch uses the frequency parameters from setup.conf and assumes that all LNBs receive the same satellite.

Thank you very much for the info, that's could explain why it now works perfectly and why I had problem before BETA2 :-)
Hello!
A new release of the configurable LNB-sharing patch for VDR 1.3 is available at: Matthias.
Sorry for this slighly OT question (but it's regarding the LNB-Sharing-Patch ;-)
Is someone able to post a list of possible channel combinations when using this patch!?
I'm thinking of buying a second card but only have one line ;( So it would be great to know what i spossible with the patch and whats not ...
Or do I have a way on my own to find out!?

Hi,
I have still problems switching from one LNB to another. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Which DVB card sends the DiSEqC signals? One of them or both at the same time?

Look into your "channels.conf" and http://www.vdr-wiki.de
You can only use those transponders which are using the same polarization. That applies for lo/hiband to, but there are one 3(?) digital transponders on the lo band.
I solved/releaxed that problem by adding a DVB-T card.
But be aware that you might need a little amplifier in front of the cable splitter!
Too you might want to enable "LNB supply" on only one card. But i don't know if VDR can handle this (i don't think so as it normally not required and the problems of the "LNB sharing guys" are usually ignored, as they are only a few hundert and they easily could move into an other house or install a "one-wire-solution") or if the LNB-sharing patch will take care of running all cards "LNB supplies" in sync. FYI: The level of the "LNB supply" tells the LNB/switch what to deliver: hor and vert polarization. "Normally" the higher Voltage "wins" and the supply chip should have been protected by a diode.. bad when i see what cheap parts hauppage are "inventing away" it might be possibile that they save 0,02Euro per 200 Euro card and replace the diode with cheap copper. That should not break the "LNB supply" immediately, but you are wasting energie 7*24h, and with the time one supply chip might become stressed too much...

All cards sharing the same LNB send DiSEqC signals one after another. If you switch the channel manually the primary card sends their DiSEqC signal allways as the last card.

Hi Matthias,
so if I switch from
S19.2E 99999 H 10600 t V W15 [E0 10 38 F3] W15 T
to
S13E 99999 V 10600 t v W15 [E0 10 38 F5] W15 B W15 T
than the second DVB card will switch the tone off (while the first one is still sending the tone), the second DVB card will have low voltage (while the first one has still high voltage), than the second DVB card will send some DiSEqC sequences (disturbed by the tone of the first one) and will switch the tone on again. Than the first DVB card will send signals, again disturbed by the tone of the second DVB card.
Would it be possible to change this and make sure no DVB card sends the tone as long as DiSEqC sequences are sent? Or have you already built in this and I just missunderstood your mail?

I will check this. Until now I implemented most of the LNB-sharing functions in device.c and tried to avoid changes in lower abstraction levels. If this does not need large changes to vdr or too many dirty hacks I will implement this in a future version.
For the moment a simple line-splitter (like http://www.reichelt.de/index.html?ARTIKEL=SVE%202-01;ARTIKELID=24943; ) should work for your configuration, as it passes the LNB-configuration- tones of only one card (AFAIK).

Hi Matthias,
thank you for writing this patch and looking at my issues. I have a similar splitter and the two reciever connectors are looking symmetrically, so I don't see through which one the DiSEqC sequences could be blocked. This should also be printed on the line-splitter. Has anyone here on the list some confirmed information on this issue, how such a line splitter works?
And another question to the list: Anyone using this patch with more than two LNBs? Does it work for you?
Since I have some other issues with my SS2 card I have deactivated it for now. If you work again on the DiSEqC handling and think I should test it, please just write an E-Mail, I can reactivate my SS2 card than.

Hello,
for my part I don't use the configurable LNB share anymore, as I keep getting "Durch LNB Blockiert !!!" all the time, as I have read in another thread in this mailing list, it's certainly not this patch fault, but at least it's a revelator for me.
So I take care of being on the same transponder if I reccord two reccordings and want to watch a third one or if I want to reccord three simultaneous... Of course, sometimes it would be very usefull if we could set on which cards a reccordings should take place :-)
