Hello,
regarding http://de.kingofsat.net/hdtv.php there are some "free" hdtv channels in DVB-S MPEG-2 and also in DVB-S MPEG-4.
I am specially interested in :
Hotbird 6 (13.0E) - 10834.00 V - DVB-S - 27500 3/4 - NID: 176 - TID: 11600 - Txp: 116 - Beam / Ausleuchtzone: Europe - TPS Arte (France) MPEG-4
Is there any way to reccord/watch it from VDR (I use xine) ?
I have both budget and FF cards in case that matter.
Thank you very much,
Not with vdr ('cause of MPEG4/AVC), but with patched szap and parallel doing - cat from /dev/dvb/adapterX/dvr0 for recording or - maybe live with mplayer/vlc

I did test this lots of time ago, without much sucess... certainly the decoding in mplayer/vlc is better now... In the thread they are my problems report by the way :-)
Oops, no I can't make it better now...
I can tune with my budget card but not with FF.
Any hope to have MPEG4/AVC pre-support in VDR ?
Thank,
Hello, How do you plan to decode this? I do not want to buy a dualcore cpu for this and only for this. Afaik there is no FF card for this but it would be the best solution for it. Gruß Halim

Thank,
I hope so :) maybe we can than record this H264 over dvb-s. Atm i think its a streamID problem and vdr set the vpid to 0.
Is it just a small thing in pat.c to record these streams (see attached patch) ?
On dvb-list there are some post that there are some sources even on DVB-T in uk and fr.

I might have created a wrong entry for ARTE in my channels.conf but it crash when I try to record...
Anyone succeeded here ?

I believe for MPEG4 / H264 transmissions DVB-S2 is required, and AFAIK there is no dvb-linux supported card yet (and no support in VDR, for one).

No, its not needed there are also some MPEG4/H264 over dvb-s but the posted patch didnt work here. (VDR restarts and the file hase 0 bytes)

You refer to the one from me ? If yes, which "PID" lines where printed by the enabled printf ?
