Hi,
I can record HD broadcasts only if vdr-sxfe is running. I can always record SD broadcasts.
I have an FF and a DVB-S2 card. I cannot watch HD broadcasts using the output device of my FF card, of course. But, it should be possible to record these broadcasts, even if they cannot be displayed with the current primary device (FF card).
In the log, there are the following messages (repeated very often):
ERROR: TS packet not accepted in Transfer Mode ERROR: TS packet not accepted in Transfer Mode ERROR: driver buffer overflow on device 2
This error is reproducible during one recording: 1) vdr-sxfe running, start recording (recording works) 2) exit vdr-sxfe (recording interrupted from this time) 3) start vdr-sxfe again (recording continues)
I use the xineliboutput plugin and starting vdr-sxfe forces this plugin to become primary device.
I can start VDR without the FF card (using --device). In this case, HD recording works always.

If your FF card is the primary device and you start recording an HD channel from that device, that channel will also be displayed "live", which obviously doesn't work.
Try recording from a non-primary device, or switch to an SD channel that is displayed in Transfer Mode to avoid these errors.

Hi,
Recording from a non-primary device, thats what I do: As ARTE-HD is DVB-S2 and my FF supports DVB-S only I use the DVB-S2 card for recording, of course.
I'm sure that switching to an SD channel during the recording will work fine. On the other hand side, I normally don't sit next to my VDR during recordings and make sure that they work.

Hi,
1.7.11 improves the situation: As long as I don't use the plugin dvbsddevice, all recording works fine.
As soon as I use the plugin dvbsddevice, the behavior is as described. I still think that a recording should work, even if it cannot be displayed by the current primary device.
