I'm building and testing my new VDR-box. Starting some timers and recordings, six actually, after starting seventh recording I got following errors in log -- Apr 12 17:45:23 vdr2 vdr[4017]: ERROR: no free slot for PID 650 Apr 12 17:45:23 vdr2 vdr[4017]: ERROR: no free slot for PID 1027 -- Maybe they are not VDR related at all, but something in my system kernel 2.6.11 + patches from bytesex NEXUS-S plus 2 NOVA-T cards.
Full featured cards only have 32 slots for pid filtering. For every recording VDR needs 1 for video and 1 for every audio language. A few slots are used of SI parsing ... so soon or later all slots are busy. Try to use your DVB-T instead of your DVB-S ;-)

Thats what I did, all recording were on DVB-T cards. The NEXUS-S is there just to connect the TVset and as Primary Card. There is not even dish connected, will be later when I move the box to livingroom. Where are the pid slots defined ? Drivers ? Firmware ?
