(As a side note, a separate vdr-announce mailing list for VDR-related announcements would be nice :-) )
Install some email client supporting folders, categories or flagging. Then make a filter for subject starting with "[vdr][announce]" and you have a virtual mailing list?

I already did that, let's see how many authors actually use that syntax ;-)
