When using mp3-0.9.12, I am noticing these messages in the log every time I play a mp3:
mad: decode hdr error, frame=0 count=1: lost synchronization
Is this a problem with libmad?

Not necessarily. If frame=0 in most case it means that there is some garbage in front of the first frame.
