another quick note for those who want to just use xine natively to watch DVDs.

even though I set the region in Xine for '2', I couldn't watch any DVDs until I used 'regionset' on the drive itself. The new RPCII drive shipped with no region set, and Xine didn't like that! Gave a popup warning about 'crypted DVDs' whenever I tried to use it.

Alternatively, install libdvdcss2.
