Hi!
Just put in the Channel Info for tonight HDTV Broadcast of Spiderman.
After a restart the channel showed up on my list, but no EPG Data.
I programmed now the timer using standard Pro7 and than changed the Channel to HDTV.
Can I included extra time before and after the Film or is the HDTV Channel only active for the period of the Film?
I am really curios on the results off this recording :-) Tomorrow hopefully will ask how I can watch this recording on my PC.

If you have only a FF all wou will get is a crash of DVB and VDR, you have to force the channel (with the CA of the budget) to a budget card.
You could use xine (either directly or with the plugin) or mplayer to play the recording :-)
Oh, ok. There is no chance to make the recording with only a FF in the system?
Thanks anyway Martin

Yes, you could modify your FF to allow it to handle the full TS, but you'll need good electronical knowledge and it's not without risk... And then you should take the budget patch in the kernel, just search this ml for more info, sorry.
No problem, thanks for the quick help!
But I think I will not start working on my goot VDR System ;-)
But: I am planning on a second one, which could use a budget card plus a DXR3 Card I still got somehwhere.
Will this than work to record on of the other HDTV Film in the near future?
And will the combination Budget card plus DXR3 be as good for standard TV as a FF card? This second VDR System would also run with a Television to watch, not a computer monitor.

Should work this way:
Programm the timer on the HDTV channel and tune to the normal Pro7 channel (assuming it's the same frequency) while timer is recording. If it's not the same frequency you could use a dummy channels.conf entry without VPID and tune to this instead.

You're welcome.

Never touch a working system...

To reccord yes, but the DXR3 is not able to decode HDTV...

I think so, I don't like standard TV as there resolution are very bad... http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1764466,00.asp is better :-)

Isn't it possible to stop "Live TV" with the streamdev-plugin and program a timer manually? I'm asking because it is possible to stream hdtv with a FF-Card. You could also receive the stream e.g with VLC and dump it into a file.
