Does anyone know what vendor makes the reelbox "extension HD" kit? It's a mini-pci card with hdmi and yuv output and apparently does 1080i hardware decoding of mpeg2/4

It is developed for/by Reel Multimedia, it's no OEM. But "Mini-PCI" is misleading anyway. The interface and the first few centimeters of the PCB are Mini-PCI, but the overall format is a bit weird (L-shape). Even with a PCI-to-MPCI-adapter card it does not really fit in a PC case.

Ok. I guess they could sell a lot of PCI versions of that card if they made one.. Not everyone wants a "ready made" reelbox.

Well, maybe there will be one later...

Sign me up to one of those... I would love something like that for VDR.
Its quite frustrating that there STILL isn't a FF DVB-S2 solution that supports hardware decoding of MPEG2/4/AVC with HDMI output.. Whoever comes first to market with that will surely make a fortune... Anyone know of any imminent release by a company?

There exist a driver for the realmagic x-card for linux, but it was never released... The x-card supports mpeg4 and 720p output.
