I read that not all receiver are able to use it (linux based, like dreambox are). I would like to setup one two input relay and one four input relay to get five input for convertor in VDR. Is anybody familier with diseqc.conf and Can you help me how to set it up? Now, I use four input relay only, but I don't know what number in diseqc.conf file mean.
If this will be posible I would like to use diseqc relay input to often watched tv stations and motor to rotate whole dish to different postion for experimentation and use only central converter for watching. Would be possible to use VDR for this purpose too?

Not sure if this is what you mean, But for an example, The dishnetwork dual lnb has a switch in it and responds to F1/F5 vs a standard switch which would be F0/F4. The standard switch will only respond to F0/F4 while I think the DN switch will respond to ether set. So Putting a DN dual LNB on a standard 1x4 switch woudl look like this:

Then you send the second command. Not also the "t" for tone control. You can stack a tone switch in also. Have it select between one of 2 1x4 switches to get you 8 ports. You can only have 1 tome switch in any given path because they can not be addressed. Ether you send tone or you don't.
To stack switches you need what is called committed switches for the secondary switch. They us a different address. If additional switches are needed, make sure each in the string will pass commands not addressed to them. As far as I know they all should.

Hi, I read "Bus specification" http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/4_5_5.html and it isn't still clear for me. My diseqc.conf file is slightly different from your example, so I attached it to this mail. There is example, where mini A and mini B command is used. But i didn't find anything about this command in eutelsat documentation nor source code (these commands are implemented as ioctl() in fronted source code module).

After looking back at the specs I am a bit confuse about "commited" and "uncommited" also. I thought a standard port was uncommited, but 38 is what I have been using. Someone else may need to jump in, but the 4 commands for the 4 ports for my switch are

The chart in the pdf for yours indicates maybe F0,F1,F2,F3 is correct for yours. you will have to just test and see.
As for the stacking, Looks like you have "universal" lnb. They cover a wider band then a standard and do it in 2 steps. It should have a 22Khz switch built in and you select between lo and hi with the tone command (t/T) wwhich you have at the end of your lines.
Horizontal and vertical polarities are selected with the voltage (v/V). Band stacked LNBs switch by changing the local oscillator only. You don't have a BS lnb. I would recommend simplifying your commands and first working out which address are used (0,4,8,C or 0,1,2,3). Then if you have problems with it not always switching, you look at repeating the commands.

So, it seams that I have same switch as you. And it seams, that few last bits of last byte isn't important for diseqc switch.
So can I still use it to cascade?
I think, that one solution how use it this switch is buy another uncommitted diseqc switch. I tried to find it using google, but I found only uncommitted 16 input switch. Is here another (cheaper) solution that buy this 16 input switch and substitute 4 input switch with it?

My diseqc.conf file is slightly different from your example, so I attached it to this mail. There is example, where mini A and mini B command is used. But i didn't find anything about this command in eutelsat documentation nor source code (these commands are implemented as ioctl() in fronted source code module).

Because this is for a band stacked DishPro LNB, you change the LO to select R/L and keep the voltage up. E0 10 38 F4 is the command for a standard 1x4 switch to use the second port (ports are FO, F4, F8, FC). Then you have a short pause to allow time for the first switch to select that port. Then you send the second command. Not also the "t" for tone control. You can stack a tone switch in also. Have it select between one of 2 1x4 switches to get you 8 ports. You can only have 1 tome switch in any given path because they can not be addressed. Ether you send tone or you don't.
How can I use tone to stack switch(how to write diseqc.conf line)? According eutelsat documentation tone is send after binary command in bracket.

Yea, what you have is the standard switch and I think it is what is called uncommitted, but not sure. So what you would need is a committed. Basicly, you need one that is a different address and only responds to that address. How many more ports do you need?
OH, and watch out for 1x8 switches. They combine tone with standard 1x4 which won't work for you since you need to use tone for band selection.

So, it seams that I have same switch as you. And it seams, that few last bits of last byte isn't important for diseqc switch.
So can I still use it to cascade?
I think, that one solution how use it this switch is buy another uncommitted diseqc switch. I tried to find it using google, but I found only uncommitted 16 input switch. Is here another (cheaper) solution that buy this 16 input switch and substitute 4 input switch with it?

The chart in the pdf for yours indicates maybe F0,F1,F2,F3 is correct for yours. you will have to just test and see.
As for the stacking, Looks like you have "universal" lnb. They cover a wider band then a standard and do it in 2 steps. It should have a 22Khz switch built in and you select between lo and hi with the tone command (t/T) wwhich you have at the end of your lines.
Horizontal and vertical polarities are selected with the voltage (v/V). Band stacked LNBs switch by changing the local oscillator only. You don't have a BS lnb. I would recommend simplifying your commands and first working out which address are used (0,4,8,C or 0,1,2,3). Then if you have problems with it not always switching, you look at repeating the commands.

Hi, I wanted to get only one another input. But to achieve it I have to buy at least 2 input UNCOMMITTED switch. But i find only one 2 input uncommitted switch with price like 8 input uncommited swithc made in my country (czech republic) and with price of 70% of new motor (rotor). I think, that motor would be better solution.
I am almost sure, that standart switch is called COMMITTED
diseqc 1.0 - committed - max. 4 input LNB - diseqc command byte 0x38 diseqc 1.1 - uncommitted - max. 6 input LNB - diseqc command byte 0x39
diseqc command byte is according table in chapter 8.3 of diseqc documentation by eutelsat.
Now, I think that it's clear for me. On beginning I was confused from switching using tone burst, because I never seen anything different than universal LNB.

If this will be posible I would like to use diseqc relay input to often watched tv stations and motor to rotate whole dish to different postion for experimentation and use only central converter for watching. Would be possible to use VDR for this purpose too?
