Hi, I'm trying to tune fta(free to air) feeds with VDR. Feeds are temporaly channels for an event that usually have low freqüencies. To tune them I try to add or edit channels in my list. But I only know this for example: 30W (hispasat) frequency: 11538 polarization: H sr 6100 Some of this feeds are in 422 format. I have a nexus-s dvb-s FF card. DVB-S2 and current cards

Hi, just reading heise newsticker, I wonder whether DVB-S2 is something that really needs new hardware to be received. In the end, you get a data stream from the satellite and my understanding was, what makes the standard DVB-S is basically the specification of the data. Can someonw shed some light on this for me? hmmm naaa...they can try :D.But lawyers in EU-Pt do not search in vdr mailing lists (prob they don't know what linux is :D besides)..who told you I don't have subscription of the service?I have the service card..but don't have cam module for PC. :D. And the moment the cops try to enter my house...there it goes my crypted partition file with shreder :D.

Dumb question on DVB-C

Hi. I'm currently using a Nova-T card for terrestrial DVB, but would like to add a DVB-C card and connect to cable. Am I right in assuming that channels on cable are organised much like on terrestrial, with 3 or 4 transponder frequencies carrying 3 or 4 channels each? I wonder, because as the cable is provided by a single supplier, I wasn't sure how the channels are mapped. Secondly, are channels that require CAM decrypting all generally on the same transponder? vdr video data stream broken

A couple of times I have seen the vdr message ERROR: video data stream broken which (a) leads to a vdr exit, and (b) keeps happening every time I re-launch vdr. As far as I can tell, this occurs if a recording gets scheduled on a channel that is (subsequently) deleted or otherwise unavailable (e.g blocked with the very nice 'taste' plugin).
