SAT1 via sat recording, sound now DTS instead of AC3?

Hi, I noticed some strange effect when watching my recordings from sunday. (Enterprise + JAG). Recording was done with vdr 1.2.1. On playback with vdr-1.2.1 with dxr3 display went black and no further action was possible. Vdr has to be killed. Playback with vdr-1.3.34 (patched and vanilla) was possible but no sound. Ffmpeg is complaining about a missing decoder: [mpegdecoder] Error! Codec 86021 not supported by libavcodec That is 0x15005 -> DTS ! Has someone noticed a similar problem ? -- Stefan Lucke

VDR control via email command or SMS

Has anyone done any automation of tasks by monitoring /var/spool/mail/ mailboxes? As I have VDR shutting down between timers, I'd like to 'queue' an email request to automate a response containing all the current scheduled timers, and to add additional timers where requested. Idea would be to SMS a 'command' to an email gateway, which the VDR box (when it next turned on) could respond to and issue svdrp commands where needed. Does anyone know of any tools available to monitor and parse emails? Perhaps something the sourceforge, or even the this mail list uses to list subscribed lists etc??? Any thoughts?

Remote Plugin

Hi, I want to use RC5 keycodes with different adresses in the remote.conf because my RC uses different ones for the normal (TV) keys and the keys for the VCR-control. In learning mode only the adress of the first key is taken, the rest of the keys are useless then. I think the adress is the last parameter in the following line remote-event3._Setup /proc/av7110_ir 00000000 31 But how to establish a second set with a different adress? What is the meaning of the other parameter? Jörg.

vdr-burn chapter definition

Hi!, There is a way to define more than one chapter in a single recording to be create with the burn plugin? I have been tested the plugin and have created one chapter for each recording. Thanks. Leo.

AttachFilter need's a ref not an Object

Hello Today I tryed to play with vdr filters. After reading the PLUGIN.html I found a Problem. Example out of the Howto: cMyFilter Filter; cDevice::ActualDevice()->AttachFilter(Filter); The Problem is that AttachFilter(...) needs a Ref not an Object. So I made cMyFilter Filter; cDevice::ActualDevice()->AttachFilter(&Filter); That is not very nice. After a look at the VDR/pat.c I decide to use this piece of code: Filter = new cMyFilter(); cDevice::ActualDevice()->AttachFilter(Filter); Im not secure if I need to delete the Filter or if the cDevece handel it. Maybe Klaus can fix this in the next howto. Patrick

Nice to see that others think the same :) Unfortunatly I am no Programmer, so I am not really sure what to change. I really would not like "OK" to be mapped to something else. ConsistentMenu menu-button handeling in Plugins and built-in menus

Hallo, I find it quit uncomfortable that the Menu-button not allways does the same thing. It is very nice that one can use the Menu-button to close the OSD-menu. But this only works in the Built-in VDR menu's - in all Plugins (that I use) the plugin menu is closed and then the VDR main menu is opened. I would expect the same to happen in both cases. Only a minor thing but it would be nice if it was consistent :) Thanks to all contributing to this fine program. Greetings Christian Jacobsen

Changes : - Redesign core - beep function to run as non-root environment - Add -D_GNU_SOURCE (avoid building problems on woody/linvdr, reported by Markus Kahle) - Use threadsafe functions - Add -fPIC to CXXFLAGS (suggest by Thomas Schmidt) What is it : This little Plugin notify with a beep over the internal mainboard speaker, to selected VDR events.
