Problem with transfer mode, xine plugin and ActualDevice

Well, I don't know where the problem actually lies (I guess the xine plugin), but: I'm using vdr with a dxr3 and the xine-newtork plugin (0.7.4, I know I should update it, but I couldn't spot anything related to this problem in HISTORY for 0.7.5 and 0.7.6). Normally the dxr3 is the primary device but when the xine plugin is in use it will switch itself as the primary. The problem is that right after the switch a new transfer thread starts *before* the previous one ends, so receiverDevice is left pointing to NULL, so that ActualDevice fails to report the correct device, until the next channel switch. vdr 1.3.27 restart problem

Hi, vdr is running fine on my machine except for one strange thing. I can start/stop vdr perfectly fine, but when I select "Neustart" in the vdr menu (restart), it is coming into an endless loop of restarting itself. The logfile then says: ov 12 16:31:56 localhost vdr[16858]: loading /var/lib/vdr/remote.conf Nov 12 16:31:56 localhost vdr[16858]: loading /var/lib/vdr/keymacros.conf Nov 12 16:31:56 localhost input.agent[16860]: evdev: already loaded Nov 12 16:31:56 localhost vdr[16858]: no DVB device found When I say /etc/init.d/vdr restart everything works fine. What is going wrong here? System details are: Ubuntu 5.10 kernel 2.6.12-9-k7 vdr 1.3.27 Hauppauge Nexus-s Rev 2.3 Thanks for your help, Matthias

[patch] network vdr-xine-0.7.6, use -i to select the ip to bind to

Hi, I did it for me, maybe it could be of some use for someone else. With the genuine vdr-xine plugin -i could be used to choose the instance number and one can have several vdr+vdr-xine running on the same box. Here with the networked vdr-xine, it could be used to select the ip to bind to. What are the differences ? If -i is not used, the networked vdr-xine bind to all local interfaces (as before) If you want to run 2 vdr+vdr-xine on the same machine, it has to have 2 ip addresses, the first vdr has to be ran with -P 'xine -i IP1.IP1.IP1.IP' and the second one with -P 'xine -i IP2.IP2.IP2.IP' it's a quick hack, I hope i've been clear enough and that it may be of some use. --

Odd behiviour of dish

After changing to vdr-1.3.36 and rotor-0.1.2 my dish behives strangely. The dish thinks that it's 'rest' position is allways at S1.0W If I select some channel at S19.2E, the dish moves there and things work normally. If I then select some DVB-T channel, the dish moves back to position S1.0W. EPG scantime is set at 0. Any ideas ? -- lwgt(a)iki.fi * Using HTML-mail is like breaking wind in a church * 60.2N 24.7E * it is not illegal, just extremely bad manners *

Hello, softdevice team (Torgeir Veimo, Martin Wache and me, Stefan Lucke) with help from softdevice users, is pleased to announce a new release of vdr softdevice plugin. General info: Softdevice plugin enables vdr to run on your desktop with so called budget cards. You'll get vdr output via framebuffer or X11-Xv or DirectFB or vidix to your screen. Decoding is done via ffmpeg. Plugin's homepage is located at: http://softdevice.berlios.de/ Changelog since last release: 2005-11-12: softdevice-0.2.1 - speed up moving of cutmarks by a factor of about 100. I forgot to signal that new data is available in StillPicture() :-/ - new packet mode: make some softdevice functions available to other plugins like softplay useing the new service interface 2005-11-06: - video-xv: some of X11 atoms could be set via OSD too. So using hardcoded hotkeys for brightness, contrast, hue and saturation is obsolete and may be removed soon. - video-dfb: (by Laurence Abbott) selecting field parity and triple buffering on via epia boards. That could be used for others too if primary head is connected to TV. Triple buffering is independently available as a separate option now.
