DVD plugin error

Hi all, When using the DVD-plugin (b02) to play a DVD put together with Vdrsyncs DVD-menu script the buttons just appears as black dots (not red) and I get the following error message: Aug 27 08:46:18 ernie vdr[11866]: ERROR: cOsd::SetAreas returned 6 Does anyone has a clue? The DVD plays just fine on an other box. Regards Anders

vdr stopping and not restarting

I am running vdr 1.3.26, during the night it is changing state to SetPlayMode: 0 and the only way to bring it back up is to kill vdr, unload the skystar2 module and restart. Hi Darren, I've been happily using your VDR Debian packages for a long time and I really appreciate the effort you have put into them. Is there any chance you would consider adding the LiveBuffer-Patch 0.1.0 when you release VDR 1.3.31 packages? It sounds like it adds a feature which many have been wanting a long time and I'd really love to have it as part of your package. Regards, Michal Dobrzynski

two card system is not working

Hello, a few days ago I posted already but since then I worked some things out. So I'd like to start a new thread. I upgraded my vdr system with another Skystar 2 (Rev. 2.3) DVB-S card. Using the kernel drivers from kernel 2.6.12.5 with upgraded DVB-patch.2.6.12 from Linuxtv.org (to match last recent dvb-kernel version). VDR is not working as expected. Without recordings everything is fine. But if a recording (due to a timer event or manual) starts vdr gets very slow and the recording isn't starting. Well, it starts and in the same second it stopps, and that happends continuously every 6 seconds. I would expect VDR to get me an error. Instead the SkyStar driver (b2c2-flexcop-pci) is flooding my dmesg log with "i2c: master xfer failed" messages. Without loading the skystar card driver and using the single DVB setup everything works just fine again because the full featured Nexus 2.1 (primary) works well. Output of 'cat /proc/interrupts' is: 10: 0 XT-PIC Technisat/B2C2 FlexCop II/IIb/III Digital TV PCI Driver 11: 31472 XT-PIC saa7146 (0), eth0 And 2 devices were found by vdr. There are no counted interrups on irq 10 for the SkyStar2 it seems that the card / interrupt is sleeping since start of the vdr program (and I know about the "Einschlafproblem" but this occurs not just by starting the vdr or driver, right?). VDR-1.3.26-31: BUG in cVideo/AudioRepacker while syncing

Hi, while looking at the code of cRepacker::Reset() for adding a comment why I was initializing variable "packetTodo" with the maximum value for MPEG2, I've discovered a bug in cVideo/AudioRepacker::Repack(): When resyncing took longer than packetTodo bytes then a result packet could have been generated with the data collected while syncing, which actually should have been omited. The other changes address the BreatAt() methods which shall do nothing while initially syncing to allow the packet buffer to fill to it's maximum size before it is repacked. As a result there is nolonger the need to initialize "packetTodo" to a certain value. I sincerely apologize for causing such difficulties and hope that the code is stable now. Bye. -- Dipl.-Inform. How to syncronise more than one VDR

Hi, Is there any possibility to synchronise timers between more than 2 vdr? At the moment i have 3 VDR running, one uses a full-featured-card and a budget-card (vdr1), the second (vdr2) has only a full-featured-card and the third (vdr3) has only one budget-card. vdr1 is in my fathers-room, vdr2 is in my room and vdr3 on the roof. All together share one filesystem. Now i also want to record more than one transponder, so i need another kable for vdr2, but i can not install a new one. At the moment i program vdr3 to do this job, but i can only do by webinterface, which is not much comfortable, when sitting on the sofa. I also want to install another LNB for hotbird, so i would need a third cable. Is there any other better possibility? Is it somehow possible to program a timer on any VDR and all 3 VDR try to find a free card in any VDR and use this card for recording? I think i can remember that Klaus wanted to implement such a feature. Is it still planned? Or use a streaming Solution? I read about the streamdev-plugin, but there is no actual version, the last is from beginning of 2004, so maybe it will die in the future. How do you do in such a situation? Two parties in one house who all want to record and view separatly and share one filesystem and can use any DVB-Card? Thanks. Hi, gibt es inzwischen eine Moeglichkeit Aufnahmen/Timer zwischen mehreren VDRs zu synchronisieren? Momentan habe ich 3 VDR, einer hat eine Fullfeatured-Karte und eine Budget (vdr1), der zweite hat nur eine Full (vdr2) und der dritte hat nur eine Budget (vdr3). vdr3 dient lediglich zum Aufnehmen, er steht auf dem Dachboden. vdr1 steht bei meinem Vater im Wohnzimmer und vdr2 bei uns im Wohnzimmer. Alle teilen sich ein gemeinsames Filesystem ueber Lan. Ich moechte jetzt bei mir (vdr2) auch gleichzeitig mehrere Sender aufnehmen koennen, kann aber kein zusaetzliches Kabel legen. Momentan umgehe ich das Problem indem ich vdr3 ueber die Webschnittstelle programmiere, was aber umstaendlich ist. Was gibt es da jetzt fuer Alternativen? Kann man alle VDR irgendwie zusammenschalten, so dass man Timer einstellen kann und die dann von irgendeinem aufgenommen werden (der der halt gerade nichts zu tun hat)? Ich glaube sowas wollte Klaus eh irgendwann mal einbauen? Ist sowas noch geplant? Andere Moeglichkeit: Kann ich mir einen Master-Server einrichten, der mir die Daten zu den beiden Clients streamt? Vermutl. geht das mit dem streamdev-plugin, allerdings wurde das seit 2004 nicht mehr angepackt, ich vermute das stirbt irgendwann. Wie macht ihr sowas? Oder habt ihr nur relativ simple Konfigurationen? Das Problem ist halt, dass ich zwei Parteien im Haus habe, die getrennt fernsehen wollen. Ich moechte aber die DVB-Karten moeglichst sharen, damit jeder auch gleichzeitig aufnehmen kann. Das Archiv kann durchaus geshared sein, ist sogar erwuenscht... Danke Gruss Olli
