[Maybe OT] Anyone using vdr-remote AND ati remote control bob?

Hello, i'm using vdr with latest vdr-remote and my RF remote, but i've some throubles: each key is repeated at least four times, making impossible to switch channel and doing any other action. Every search on Saint Google was useless...i'm making my mind about modifying the remote source myself. Do you have any hint? Well, first, saying VDR is a VDR and nothing else is OK for me (I'll do it on my own). Second, that separated thread is nice, but an illusion. Cause it gains as much Disk-Access, nothing else will be done beside of it. So, why not reduce it to the max in findind recordings as as quick as possible. Just my thoughts. Well, actually there shouldn't be any non-VDR files in the video directory. Plus, since version 1.3.38 all disk access regarding recordings is done in a separate thread. vdr-xine XvMC XxMC: OSD does not work with XvMC, XxMC falls back to Xv

Hi, I have read the last 2 threads about xvmc and vdr-xine but i cannot get it to work here with slackware current, nvidia 8756 and geforce FX 5200.(pii 366 @ 458mhz) Details xorg.comf Option "XvmcUsesTextures" "true" Option "NvAGP" "1" setup.conf and .xine/config is the same as described here in the list. DEBUG_XVMC=1 xine --verbos=3 -V xxmc -f vdr:/tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes video_out_xxmc: using Xv port 244 from adaptor NV17 Video Overlay for hardware colorspace conversion and scaling. or DEBUG_XVMC=1 xine --verbos=3 -V xvmc -f vdr:/tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes this one took port 245 and accelerated without OSD video_out_xvmc: using Xv port 245 from adaptor NV17 Video Texture for hardware colorspace conversion and scaling idct and motion compensation acceleration With Overlay = 0; UnsignedIntra = 0. that is accelerated but without OSD, xxmc falls back to Xv because of prebuffer stuff? Hi folks, I'm proud to announce version 0.9 of my Extended Recordings Menu Plugin. From the HISTORY: 2006-04-10: Version 0.9 - removed myDvbPlayer, use VDR's cDvbPlayer instead - made adjustments to work with BigPatch-VDRs (JumpPlay-patch) - added option for sort recordings - moved editing of priority and lifetime to its own submenu - removed option to select alternative dvd marker, the icon is now default - added default values for setup options - moved content of patches/ and tools/ to contrib/ and added a small README - new version of 'dvdarchive.sh'; thanks to vejoun from vdr-portal.de - fixed problem with archive dvd recordings at the base dir; thanks to Mase from vdr-portal.de for reporting For sort recordings, see the hints in README! Hi! I think there will be no problems on single disk systems cause of they have enough speed, but I found a Problem with external NFS-Devices. Beside my internal video-device I'm using one harddisk for Music, one for all of my Image's and an additional Device for VDR-Recordings. Cause of the slower network-access the initial scanning for recordings and empty directories, VDR is scanning all that Sound and Image-Stuff for several minutes. If I include my 4 GB cddb-archiv, it is about 20 minutes. Therefor I changed the code of ScanVideoDir with a simple extension. It now looks first wether a file ".vdrexclude" Exists. If so it skips the entire directory-tree. This makes it easy to exclude a subdirectory tree by simply touching ".vdrexclude" in a directory that will not contain VDR-Recordings. Might be, this could find a way into VDR sometimes. Problem with ^A in Filename

I have some problems with the filename. I want to transmit all the filenames by xml. But I have some problems with a special charvalue. For Example: @Ripley's unglaubliche Welt will be saved as (only shown if I pipe "ll . > out.txt" and look at the file or by using xterm) @Ripley^As_unglaubliche_Welt This is a problem because ^A is an alias for 0x01 which I can't return in xml. My current version is 1.3.38. Maybe there has somethink changed. Best regards Patrick

Latency using vdr-xine

Hi all, I don't want this to seem ungrateful or overly critical, but I find when I use vdr-xine (not even network vdr-xine) there is an additional 2-5 second latency on-top of normal delays before channel changes show up in the window. With softedevice, there is almost no delay, channel changes occur <=1.5 seconds. I've disabled all vdr-xine buffering (through OSD), hysteresis, etc, but the delay still persists. In fact, when I change channels, in the terminal that launched vdr, I can see "vv" and other messages 2-4 seconds after the log indicates a channel change. Any planned fixes or suggestions? VDR functionality request / query

I have been wondering if Green and Yellow buttons skip functionality could be configured but not been able to find anything related to it. I happen to have a HD videorecorder which has this skip functionality also but the backward skip is only 7 seconds while forward skip is 30 seconds. This is very handy when skipping adwerticements because the backward skip most often gets you where the program starts again. \\Kartsa No virus found in this outgoing message. Patch to use Skip keys (Next + Previous)

Hallo Since a long time I wondered when the very common skip keys are available in VDR. I believe these keys are available but unused on most remote controls. The attached patch adds to new keys kNext and kPrevious to keys.h and keys.c. The patch modifies vdr.c and menu.c to switch channel up/down whith the new keys. I also modified the mp3 and dvd plugins to use the new keys. I can provide patches therefor if the patch will be intergrated in VDR. As logical mp3 jumps between tracks. When playing a DVD Next and Previous have the same meaning like 4 and 6 and jump between DVD chapters. That is the common behaviour of stand-alone DVD players. Very smart when replaying music DVDs because the different songs are DVD chapters. I can also imagine to use Prev/Next to navigate between cutting marks in a recording. (not yet implemented) If you find the new keys useful please contact the list to convince Klaus to integrate the patch.
