adjusting LIRC key repeats

Hi, I've just switched to an LIRC based remote to control VDR, but find the key repeat time annoying for scrolling down long menus or tracking through a video clip. The key repeat is too long! I've had a suggestion that I should adjust the 'repeat' value in the .lircc file - but I don't have one of these! I found a link talking about using lirc to control linux applications: "The configuration is done with the ~/.lircrc file: begin remote = <your remote> button = <your button> prog = irexec repeat = 0 config = /usr/local/bin/mozilla -mail end"but this doesn't apply to VDR well.Can I use lircc to adjust my repeat time??

channels.conf by channel number NOT position

Is there any way to select the channel NUMBER rather than it's position in channels.conf? For instance, I want to select channels 55 and 99, but not channels.conf descriptors 55 and 99. While we're on the subject, can you also suppress the 'position' number in channels.conf? My OSD looks like this: 15 99 CBUT I'd much rather just hit '99' and get CBUT. Not have to scroll between channel entries. Any ideas?

This new plugin allow you to import the EPG of an other VDR. It has been developed with pure VDR-to-VDR streaming clients in mind, in case you cannot (or don't want to) mount the server epg.data on the client. However there might be other cases where it is useful. Features: - Separate thread - works in the background - Triggered when plugin starts and/or by main menu entry - Works with SVDRP and VTP - Two sync modes. The slow mode allows sharing the SVDRP connection with other local plugins. Epgsync requires the svdrpservice plugin in its current version (0.0.2). SVDRP ignores EOF (clientside close)

Hi, I would like to raise an issue with SVDRP. When the client doesn't send QUIT but simply closes the connection, VDR happily ignores the EOF returned by read. The socket will remain in state CLOSE_WAIT until it's finally closed due to the SVDRP timeout. In the meantime the SVDRP port remains blocked for other clients. I think the way it was implemented until vdr-1.2.1 was correct. Then a broken pipe problem was reported (http://linvdr.org/mailinglists/vdr/2003/07/msg00254.html) and the implementation of cSVDRP::Process was modified to the way which is still used in 1.4.1. The way it is implemented now is IMHO broken. So I would suggest to return to the way it was initially implemented or - if someone has an idea where broken pipes might come from - find a better way to fix it. Maybe the broken pipes at that time even had a totally different cause? Proccess kdvb-fe-1 eats all my cpu resources

Hi, Since about two years I use my vdr system with an epia-m board with 600MHz CPUand an old Technotrend Rev. 1.3 full feature card. Last week I bought a second dvb card "HAUPPAUGE Win TV Nova S Plus PCI WinTv DVB-S" and now the load is about 3 and one proccess called kdvb-fe-1 eats all my free cpu resources. This systems doesn't react on every input of my remote controll ... Does anybody know of this problem ? [vdr bug]Shutdown during an active timer is broken

Hi, When a recording is active and I initiate shutdown the following happens: VDR shows the message: "Recording is active - shutdown anyway ?" Now I press ok Then the message appears: "Next recording in -xx minutes - Shutdown anyway ?" When I now press ok the shutdown routine will be called and the timer given to the shutdown script is in the past, so the machine will shut down but never wake up again. VDR maintenance patch 1.4.1-2 is now available at ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.4.1-2.diff This is a 'diff' against version 1.4.1-1 (which is the official version 1.4.1, patched with ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/vdr/Developer/vdr-1.4.1-1.diff). Small fixes to the officially released VDR versions will be first made available as "maintenance patches" in the Developer directory, so that they can be reviewed and tested before a new official release is published. So please apply the above patch and report whether it works (or if it causes any new problems). This version is binary compatible to the previous version, so plugins don't need to be recompiled. The changes since version 1.4.1-1: - Fixed the Makefile of the 'servicedemo' plugin, so that it defines the PLUGIN macro, which allows the Make.config file to react properly when compiling the plugin (reported by Bernd Melcher). Note to all plugin developers: a plugin's Makefile *must* define the PLUGIN macro, even if it doesn't use it itself! - Added a comment regarding the PLUGIN macro to the 'newplugin' script. - Added '--vfat' to the vdr.1 man page (reported by Udo Richter). - Removed a double fdopen() in cPipe::Open() (reported by Stefan Huelswitt). - Fixed handling the running status of EPG events before the currently running one, in case they are added after the current event. - cEIT::cEIT() now calls pSchedule->SetPresentSeen() even if OnlyRunningStatus is true. - Newlines in title and short text of an EPG event are now changed into blanks only after all other fixes, because a short text might become a description. - Fixed handling network masks in the svdrphosts.conf file (thanks to Patrick Maier). - Fixed handling relative volume settings in the call to cStatus::MsgSetVolume() (reported by Norbert Wentz). - Added a missing initialization of 'mutex' in cCiMenu::cCiMenu() and removed some superfluous semicolons in ci.c (thanks to Marco Schlüßler). - Fixed handling client side termination of SVDRP connections (thanks to Frank Schmirler). - cDevice::GetDevice() now prefers any device that's already receiving and doesn't require detatching receivers (suggested by Anssi Hannula). - Fixed handling numeric keys in the channel display after switching channel groups (thanks to Andreas Regel). - Menu items derived from cMenuEditIntItem now loop though their values if they have a dedicated minimum or maximum limit (suggested by Andy Grobb). Looping is only done for normal keypresses, not for repeated ones. This allows the user to scroll the value all the way to the limit by keeping the key pressed. Have fun! Klaus

[PATCH] streamdev-plugin - client fd leak fix

when a streamdev server is not accepting connections (eg isn't running) the client leaks fds. SourceCaps for VDR-1.4.0?

Hi All, I want to apply SourceCaps to vdr-1.4.0. I googled and I found that SourceCaps-1.3.39.patch should work for 1.4.0, so I downloaded it from BigPatch for vdr-1.4.0. but I couldn't patch my vdr with this file. all Hunks are failing. The BigPatch itself patches fine. but I don't need whole patches in it. What should I do? thanks. John.

Changelog: - Added locking. svdrpservice is now threadsafe - Must use cFile::FileReady instead of cFile::Ready.
