[ANNOUNCE] vdr-xine-0.8.0 plugin

Hi, I'm pleased to announce the long awaited release 0.8.0, which integrates the vdr-xine-network patch. You can find it on my homepage: http://home.vr-web.de/~rnissl Excerpt from HISTORY: 2007-10-24: Version 0.8.0 - Frame duration was not set correctly in xine-lib for H.264 frames, causing frame drops an non fluent playback. - Added network patch (thanks to Tobias Grimm for supplying it). Although I had planned to optimize it to just use one port and only two sockets, I decided to release it in its current state instead of waiting further years. I've just modified it to use a more xine-like MRL netvdr://host:port#demux:mpeg_pes where port is optional (defaults to 18701). The fifo MRL should now be written vdr://tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes, although a single slash will still work, too. - Updated et_EE.po (thanks to Arthur Konovalov for supplying the file). - Fixed a bug in vdr-xine's buffer handling for live TV mode which got most noticeable when switching back from a H.264 channel to a MPEG2 channel, especially when the machine was not capable of playing the H.264 stream in real time. As the buffer was not cleared when switching channels, old H.264 data was sent to xine instead of new MPEG2 data, which caused xine to incorrectly switch to H.264 mode. This behavior could lead to a crash in FFmpeg later. - Fixed OSD handling in vdr-xine as certain subtitles could cause a memory corruption in xine (thanks to Arthur Konovalov for providing sample recordings). analogtv, tt s-2300 ff-dvb card and blue faces

Hi mailing list, using analogtv I get from video out of my dvb card blue faces. How can I solve this? My configuration with problem: Lifeview FlyDVB trio Technotrend S-2300 modprobe saa7134 oss=1 modprobe saa7134_oss modprobe dvb-ttpci vdr-1.5.11 + AnalogTV patch (from e-tobi.net repository) analogtv 1.00-11 (with mp1e from same distribution patched for analogtv) I've read that sometimes blue face can be corrected by changing Y, Cr, Br with Y, Br, Cr, but. how to do so? There is a patch for mp1e? The problem seems to be caused by a wrong video format used by saa7134 module and mp1e. My other machine, with bt878 based card and xineliboutput, shown the right picture. Linking a dreambox to VDR using steamdev server

I have two sat cables coming into the lounge, both with the same sats. In the wall conduit are three more sat cables going to the neighbours below (we live in an apartment) and there is no way of adding more cables into the conduits. We have a dreambox which works quite well in the lounge and a VDR server with two SkyStar's. Is there any merit in tweaking streamdev to connect to the dreambox and request a stream from it when it can't get it off it's own sat card? I would like to use the dreambox when it's not needed by VDR, but otherwise slave it to VDR. It handles my Disecq better than VDR and is faster when using my subscription card. I think a way to do it is to create a quick way of reading a dreambox services file and understanding it like a VDR channels.list and then request the stream (via HTTP) from the dreambox in much the same way as one VDR server does to another. In practical terms, a dreambox would need to receive two http requests, the first would change the channel, the second would request the stream. A typical request from something like vlc to the dreambox would be: http://192.168.2.7:31339/0,0105,0205,0285,0299,1ffe I'm not that familiar with C but I can hack most languages reasonably if someone can point me in the right direction. UTF8 chars in weekday name

Hello I want to describe some minor problem in VDR: Short weekdays can't contain non ASCII-7 chars. Any other char is converted to UTF8 (it is correct) and cropped to 6 bytes (not UTF8 chars, incorrect). But this crop ignote UTF8 extensions. This code make problem in menu.c (crop to 3+3=6 bytes): ----------------------------------- asprintf(&buffer, "%.*s\t%s\t%c%c%c\t%s", 6, *event->GetDateString(), *event->GetTimeString(), t, v, r, event->Title()); Dirty fix only for CS language: ----------------------------------- #. TRANSLATORS: abbreviated weekdays, beginning with monday (must all be 3 letters!) msgid "MonTueWedThuFriSatSun" #I must fix it to this msgstr "Po Ut St Ct Pa So Ne " #And correct text is this #msgstr "Po Út St Čt Pá So Ne " Have a nice day, Jiri

streaming to iphone/touch

Hi, I just have received a gift, a ipod touch. I have wifi and it is possible install applications on it. Google maps, youtube, and other multimedia applications can be installed. Now I have seen that myhttv can stream live tv to the iphone/ipod touch. See this: http://smart-home-blog.com/archives/838 I know that it vdr can be built in mac computers. Do you think that could be possible build vdr-streamdev to watch tv and recording in my ipod? I do not have technical knowledgements to see if it is possible but as I have readed in the article from the link above: 'Both gadgets handle a specific version of the MPEG-4 standard, as well as H264 video streams' What do you think about? vdr-1.4.7 save settings before pressing poweroff

Hello, Currently I am using a shutdown script which does the powerof after pressing the power key on the remote. It seems to me that vdr does not save its settings like last channel and last volume before executing the shutdown skript. Is this a known problem? Can I insert a Setup.Save(); before SystemExec(cmd); in vdr.c to solve this?? Thanks Halim

About language choices in subtitle and audio selectors

Hi, I am wondering whether it would be possible to use full names instead of abbreviations for languages in audio and subtitle selectors? I am also wondering how the current solution gets the name/abbreviation for an option in the list, since at least for subtitles there seems to be something wrong. For Finnish subtitles I get the abbreviation "fin" for live TV and recordings made with VDR version >= 1.5.10. Same for Swedish subtitles. But for a program which contains Finnish and Spanish subtitles, I get "fin" and "50" or, even more confusing, "fin" and "fin". And for recordings made with the old subtitles plugin and VDR version prior to 1.5.10 with Finnish subtitles, the option given says "57". I feel this is a bit confusing, and was hoping to change it, but unfortunately I cannot figure out the method how the names for the option are chosen. So, I am hoping for someone to clarify how it is done and whether it could be easily changed. -Petri

I use a vanilla version of VDR with no plugins. My hardware is a card full DVB-S and a budget DVB-T. The problem comes with the DVB-T. I didn't stream with subtitles on the DVB-S. dxr3 and 1.5.11 antialiasing

After upgrading from 1.5.2 to 1.5.11 I ran into some problems with my dxr3 card. The first one was solved by setting AntiAlias = 0 in setup.conf.
