Fast-forward and subtitles

Hi, Besides DVB subtitle support, version 1.5.10 brought also support for nicer fast forward implementation. From the HISTORY file: - Implemented sending all frames to devices that can handle them in fast forward trick speeds (thansk to Timo Eskola). If I recall correctly, the original patch by Timo Eskola together with the subtitles plugin allowed also subtitles to be shown during fast forward. This nice functionality is missing from the current implementation. So, just to let you know... :) -Petri

vdr-1.5x: problem with recording FTA and watching scrambled at the same time

Hi all! Our local cable operator transmit on same frequency FTA and scrambled channels. During recording on FTA channel it is not possible to switch to any scrambled channel on the same frequency. "Channel not available!" message received. At the same time, when recording scrambled channel, switching to FTA or to other scrambled works. This behavior introduced with vdr-1.5.x versions (at least since 1.5.2, if I remember correctly). vdr-1.4.7 performs fine in same situation. Regards, AK

Hi to all!!! This is my first post to the list, so me name is Mauricio Henriquez and I write you from Chili. I want to develop a vdr backup system, but one requirement os to support USB capture or frame grabber adapters, so I wonder if you can recomend me some USB video capture adapter or USB framegrabber adapter fully suported on linux (if it is multi-channel for multiple video sources is better). in advance thanks you very much... Hello VDR community Iptv plugin developers are pleased to announce a release of vdr-iptv plugin version 0.0.3. This time the plugin includes a couple of bug fixes and tweaks (for example no more crashes at shutdown). This version also features back-ports of necessary iptv integration patches for vdr version 1.4.7. In other words using iptv plugin with stable vdr version should now be possible. [ANNOUNCE] DVB-S2 + H.264 support for VDR-1.5.12

Hi, attached you'll find updated patches for VDR-1.5.12, which replace all formerly patches regarding this subject. The patch named *-dvbs2-* additionally adds DVB-S2 support to VDR (thanks to Marco Schlüßler) and requires to use the DVB drivers from the multi-proto tree (see URL below for further details). The other patch is without DVB-S2 support and therefore most suitable for DVB-C users. The patches have been extended to also include the recently released audioindexer patch. Furthermore, the field detection code for H.264 has been adopted to MPEG2, where the same issue (VDR's index.vdr addresses frame pictures, so an index entry must not be generated for the second field of a field picture pair) exists, though hardly used compared to H.264. Technotrend FF DVB-S AC3 Passthrough

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered before but I have been searching for info on this, can anyone explain how this works with the TT FF AC3 Passthrough firmware? I can't seem to get any AC3 out of my motherboard soundcard when playing an AC3 channel with the firmware alone - are there any mods or dependencies that are required to get this working? I have tested the AC3 output with mplayer and xine and it is working properly with XVIDs with AC3 soundtrack. It also works with the bitstreamout plugin but the sync is not good. TIA, Morfsta

Hi, I've googled and tried all patches I could find to build text2skin against 1.5.10 (11 and 12 too), but still could not build text2skin plugin. Any how-to's or working patches? Thanks!

Hi! I'm running VDR-1.5.10 patched with a DVB-S2+H.264 patch, my DVB-card is a HVR4000 using the multiproto tree patched with HVR4000 support. What can be done to enhance watching HD Suisse ?

Hello, I use vdr-1.5.12 with the micro speed enhancement, the H.264 patches and xine plugin, associated with xine compiled for external ffmpeg. Can someone recommand some setting to enhance the playing ? (I have in mind xine plugins settings and xine settings). Bug in v1.4.7: small jumping of replay after rew/ff

Hi, There is a small jump (varies between less than a second to propably 2-3 seconds - not sure) forward in replaying after rew or ff. Seems (just guessing) that after ff VDR starts playing the recording immediately but the FF card cannot view the video immediately or the recording is played from the next full frame (P-frame iirc). It's somewhat annoying when watching sports (fast forwarding much of it). Br, Pasi
