stuttering video on some channels

I've recently added a dvb-c card, CI and Irdeto CAM to a system running vdr-1.5.5. All channels are encrypted. Some channels (about 20%) seem to have stuttering video. I only get a frame every 1/2 second or so - the video freezes on a frame for 1/2-1 second, then moves to the next frame etc etc. There are no messages in /var/log/messages or kernel messages in dmesg. The only difference in changing to one of the stuttering video channels is a sequence of "aMMMMMAMM" messages in the stdout logs from vdr. Below is the channels.conf. The channels 3 & 4 marked with '*' are examples of the problem channels. The only common thing between all problem channels, is they all have a separate PCR PID. But so do some of the non-problem channels! vdr-1.5.6 not found fontconfig.h in Slackware

Hi, community! Please advise what is best way to fix vdr-1.5.6 compiling on Slackware-11.0. What I got: font.c:12:35: fontconfig/fontconfig.h: No such file or directory font.c: In static member function `static bool cFont::GetAvailableFontNames(cStringList*, bool)': But, root@vdr:/usr/local/src/vdr-1.5.6# find / -iname fontconfig.h /usr/X11R6/include/fontconfig/fontconfig.h Package fontconfig-2.4.2-i486-2_slack11.0 installed. CAM-CI and multi-channel viewing + slow startup

Hi. I have just got a TechnoTrend 1500-C budget with CI and Irdeto CAM working with vdr-1.5.5. I was hoping to be able to view and record multiple channels in a boquet/transponder (as I've previously done with a dvb-t card and freeview). Breaking sound at playback

Hi! This question is directed more to Finnish DBV/VDR gurus... I have problem with YLE recordings. When watching "live" proadcast, sound is just right but when watch same program as recoded, sound is breaking, picture is fine, but sound have short gaps.. Like when there is not enougth CPU power to decode it. IF I play that file directly with xine sound is fine.. No problem. During watching, when sound start breaking, if I "jump" few second backward sound is fine for a while, but then start breaking again. So this problem is only with YLE recordings, other channels are fine always. I have tried to change almost everyhting at xineliboutput and replay settings, nothing helps. This is not version related (atleast not vdr version). -- JJussi

VDR BUG: Cannot display named channels on a transponder with other unnamed channels present

Hi, I am running VDR 1.4.6-1 and I think there is a bug in its tuning of certain channels. On the Astra 28.2E package at 11604V there are two unnamed channels which are Sky Anytime A and Sky Anytime B (http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html). Using dvbscan these show up as channels [0f36] and [0f37] respectively and have VPIDS 518 and 519. It is poosible to display these channels, but it is now not possible to receive the other channels on this transponder (VPIDS 512 to 517). I had no problems receiving these channels before the appearance of these additional channels. I have checked the channel settings for the other channels and they are all correct, so I can only guess that there is a bug in VDR that prevents these channels from being displayed. The problem exists without any additional plugins in use. Regards, Morfsta

[ANNOUNCE] vdr-osdserver 0.0.2

Hi, I've published version 0.0.2 of the OSDServer plugin. OSDServer is a plugin that allows external programs to use the OSD and the menu system of VDR. Access is done via TCP/IP and a simple script language that is primarily designed to be handled by perl programs and shell scripts. Until now, interactive VDR extensions were only available to C++ coders, but with this plugin, script coders can use the OSD too. Version 0.0.2 provides a first, solid set of commands for menus and configuration dialogs, and should be useful for first applications. Feedback on problems and improvement suggestions are welcome. vdr-burn dvdauthor crash

Hi, After a lot of tests I have reached that I can't burn any vdr recordings with vdr-burn plugin if I choose do a 'dvd with menus'. In dvd.log I see: dvdauthor -x dvd.xml .... segmentation fault If I run this command in shell I get same result, segmentation fault again. I'm using vdr 1.4.3 and also tested with vdr-1.4.6 burn plugin is http://linux.kompiliert.net/contrib/vdr-burn-0.1.0-pre21.tgz and dvdauthor is the recommended in readme: dvdauthor - http://dvdauthor.sourceforge.net ** Tested with 0.6.10 ** recommended: 0.6.12-alpha-2992-GfD-5 from ** http://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/edcounter.php?file=download/dvdauthor-0.6.12-… ** if you want to create discs with titles longer than 10000 seconds I also have tested compiling dvdauthor 0.6.14. Anyone has experimented the same problem? And know how to solve this? Thanks.
