No signal - Dish seems fine - femon output follow

Hello, after my vacation I no longer have any reception. 3x DVB-S Budget cards vdr (1.4.7/1.4.5) - The Video Disk Recorder xineliboutput (1.0.0rc2) - X11/xine-lib output plugin vompserver (0.2.6) - VDR on MVP plugin by Chris Tallon femon (1.1.1) - DVB Signal Information Monitor (OSD) streamdev-server (0.3.3-pre3-geni) - VDR Streaming Server The setup has been running for quite some time, after receiving a new dish and some new cables. Since then I have had a couple of month of very good reception. Now, after two weeks of vacation it is no longer functioning. convert the channels.conf from scantv to the vdr format

Hoppa VDR readers, I'm new at this list. My name is Sebastian, 25 years old and I coms from Germany. My first question: Is there a possibility to convert the result of scantv in to a vdr supported channels.conf format? I try the example from vdr-wiki but my vdr means, "error by reading ...". :-( I use vdr 1.4.7 on a Debian Lenny/Sid System with e-toby. The channels.conf must be for the analogtv plugin. femon and xineliboutput

Hi, when I try to start femon with xineliboutput nothing apears. It seems to to start but nothing is shown on screen (using vdr-sxfe or xine directly). Starting femon on console works when vdr is not running. All other plugins seem to work. Experimenting with OSD settings in xineliboutput options didn't solve the problem. femon 1.1.3 xineliboutput 1.0.0-rc2 vdr 1.4.7 Any ideas? Simon

Hi There. I've trying to get xmltv2vdr working. It's a script that dumps an xmltv file into vdr's schedule. I have found that the vdr is causing a problem. It won't let you "PUTE" anything. Strange CPU usage cycling after user inactivity

Hi there, I'm looking for help solving a strange issue I'm having with my vdr system. It's an AMD64 Debian box, kernel 2.6.18, running vdr 1.4.7, input from a DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T Plus card, output through a dxr3 card (actually a Hollywood+). When I'm watching TV everything is fine. After I stop watching and leave vdr on its own for a while, weird things start to happen. After a while (I suspect it's when vdr thinks the user inactivity period has expired) vdr starts into some weird cycle. For a minute or two vdr runs using ~1/4 of my CPU, apparently busy with IO. After that it returns to normal, using usually a few percent of the CPU. But then after a few more minutes it peaks up to 25% again, and the cycle continues. I've narrowed it down to the following messages in syslog. This first message appears at the same time as the weird CPU usage starts: Jun 30 21:12:46 phi kernel: cx88[0]/2: cx8802_timeout Jun 30 21:12:55 phi vdr: [3452] frontend 0 timed out while tuning to channel 0, tp 536 Jun 30 21:13:16 phi vdr: [3452] frontend 0 timed out while tuning to channel 0, tp 543 Jun 30 21:13:37 phi vdr: [3452] frontend 0 timed out while tuning to channel 0, tp 564 Jun 30 21:13:58 phi vdr: [3452] frontend 0 timed out while tuning to channel 0, tp 571 On (or not long after) the fourth vdr message (always comes in fours) things settle back to normal, until the next cx8802_timeout, two minutes later (accurate to within a few seconds, actually). Now, this needs to be an always-on machine, and I want it to use as least power (electricity, and thus, CPU) as possible, so it's annoying me that it seems to be doing this IO processing seemingly unnecessarily. It's been doing this a while, probably a few months. I think it started some minor revision ago, but I can't be certain. I'm a bit confused that it's trying to access channel 0, since AFAICT there is *no* channel 0. Help? Thanks, Brendon

FIX request for sysinfo plugin & vdr-1.5.x

I have discovered that the sysinfo plugin written by Kikko forces VDR-1.5.x to use the default font rather then the user-defined setting. I emailed the author and he responded by saying he won't fix his plugin until Klaus releases a final version of 1.5, which could be quite a long time. I don't understand the logic behind his decision but nonetheless it's his to make so ... I don't think the problem is that hard to fix but I don't have enough knowledge of C to do it myself so I'm asking publically if anyone can have a look and come up with a possible fix/patch for the problem. The newest version of sysinfo is 0.1.0a, which is what I'm using. The plugin can be found at: http://kikko77.altervista.org/index.php?mod=Download Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

changing default font

When I select a different default font for vdr to use (other than San Serif), and save it to setup.conf, vdr does not use the newly selected default font upon startup. It seems vdr keeps defaulting back to the original default font. Has anyone noticed this too? Best Regards.

[PATCH] xineliboutput-1.0.0rc2 - Gnome Screensaver support in vdr-sxfe

Hi, Please find attached my second attempt at this patch that will disable the gnome screensaver when vdr-sxfe starts and enable it when it quits. The first version was originally posted to the xineliboutput mailing list, this version of the patch has more intelligent Makefile that checks for dbus dev libraries and gets the paths for the dbus includes. Most of the code is taken from this patch for mplayer: http://codebrowse.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-dev/mplayer/ubuntu-feisty/bundle/na… from what I could gather on the mplayer mailing list this patch was originally done by Piotr Kaczuba (pepe(a)attika.ath.cx) so most credit should go to him. The gnome_screensaver.c file is pretty much entirely his with some changes to make it work with the vdr-sxfe logging so if it's used please be sure to credit him. Any feedback appreciated.
