Converting H264 vdr 1.7.0 recordings to xvid (or x264) in avi container

Hi I have a little question about vdr recording format when in H264 (BBC HD), currently I can convert with mencoder my recording made from my HD terminal after converting trp to ts. When I try to mplayer the same vdr recording (ie 001.vdr) it find no video track. I can only see them with xine from vdr or from command line Does anybody has successfully convert those records ? Windows remote client

Hello all, Is there a plugin for VDR (I use 1.7.1) that allows a windows based client to watch the channels remotely? What windows based clients can I use in that case? Is there a network overhead for watching a stream? I mean if the stream is 5Mbit, will it take 5Mbit of my network or the traffic will take more? In case the client is used with a small window that can't show the whole picture, will the network load be reduced? Thanks.

VDR -> S2API: 2 questions

After quite a while away from VDR development, I've dedicated this weekend to switching VDR to S2API (TS recording will be postponed). Just two quick questions: - Where do I find the ultimate, latest, greatest S2API driver source? I would assume it is at http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb, but with all the recent patching and various repositories, I'm unsure... - Is there a patch available that implements the S2API changes into VDR? I've seen some postings about such a patch, but IIRC it also containes several other things that are unrelated to the plain S2API change. Klaus

Hi, I'm currently upgrading most of my VDR systems (going to diskless NFS clients), using preferably prebuilt packages (so much easier to maintain than custom patched ones ;-). I was wondering what was the plan regarding the upcoming Debian lenny in e-tobi repo ? There are some packages I'd like to use from there : * xserver-xorg-video-openchrome : currently using xserver-xorg-video-via instead, but support seems to be much improved in openchrome * new kernel, for more hardware support (unfortunately, etch LIRC kernel package for serial receiver does not compile with 2.6.24 from etch-n-half, and I don't want to start tweaking everything) I also experience weird problems (crashes, double OSD, etc.) with xineliboutput (sxfe), and would like to remove all causes related to old versions (as much as plain etch now feels "old": xinelib, openchrome, xorg, etc.). -- NH

As reproduce femon hangs: call femon and switching of channels upwards/downwards pass to the channel which has no signal. Vladimir Monchenko.

VDR on Fedora recommended window manager

Hi I'm running VDR-1.6.0 and vdr-xine on my Fedora 6 box, and am moving into Fedora 9. I've always had problems with a lack of real understanding on window managers, so have put up with GDM under Fedora 6, but Fedora 9 has some real nasty "clever" stuff that just simply needs disabling. Can anyone suggest a howto, or can guide me on how to circumvent this entirely? Basically I need to: 1) auto log into 'vdruser' 2) start xine That's it. Everything else is done behind the scenes, and I can handle. Can anyone help? Thanks Simon

femon 1.6.3 - some remarks

Hi I have installed femon 163 with my vdr 170. There's some remarks concerning of h264 channels no any information in CoderateH (I can see only ---) in BITRATE field I can see only ---(6 Mbit/s) FRAME RATE - --- Audio stream #0 () Codec - H264 Codec - --- Channel Mode - --- Bitrate - --- Sampling Frequency - --- If I try to switch channel up/down with OSD femon menu my vdr will hang up Goga

Hi! There is a new version of the Sudoku plug-in. Download: http://toms-cafe.de/vdr/sudoku/vdr-sudoku-0.3.3.tgz Changes since version 0.3.2: - Delete puzzles from the sudoku-list file with confirmation. - Added version option to sudoku_generator. - Added manual page for sudoku_generator. This plug-in generates Number Place puzzles, so called Sudokus, and let you solve it. A Sudoku puzzle consists of 9 x 9 cells subdivided into 9 regions with 3 x 3 cells. The rules are simple. There have to be the numbers from 1 to 9 in every row, column and region. In the beginning some numbers are given. These cells are painted with cyan background color.
