OT: xineliboutput - DVD subtitles always present

Hi list, Slightly off topic here, but as there are quite a few users of xineliboutput on this list, I'm hoping for a clue I seem to have an odd problem with my freshly rebuilt VDR system now using xineliboutput to obtain DVI output from an Nvidia MX440 card - watching DVDs with the including mediaplayer, the DVD subtitles are always present (and seem to default to Dutch for some reason). There's no keyboard attached and I've tried all the obvious things from the remote control, and check the Xine config file, and config-xineliboutput but can't seem to find any option to turn off subtitles. Any clues? Steve

[ANNOUNCE] DVB-S2 + H.264 support for VDR-1.5.16

Hi, attached you'll find updated patches for VDR-1.5.16. The patch named *-dvbs2-* additionally adds DVB-S2 support to VDR (based on VDR-1.5.14) and requires to use the DVB drivers from the multi-proto tree (see URL below for further details). The other patch is without DVB-S2 support and therefore most suitable for DVB-C users. VDR-1.5.14 reported changes to transponder data incorrectly. The attached dvbs2 patch contains a fix for this issue by introducing TransponderDataToString(). Hi Klaus, the polish translation is attached. Warning: I used POEdit on my Windows notebook to do the translation and did not find the time yet to test it with on my VDR. Hello, since the start of this plugin there was an issue when you call the plugin twice via keymacro. This bug should now be solved. So I decided to make a major jump to version 1.0.0 . Version 1.6.0 postponed - last chance for translators!

Some unexpected work around the house has come up, so I won't be able to release a new version of VDR today. Plus, there is still the issue with live tv not kicking in after stopping a replay with "Back" (which apparently bothers some users) and a problem on systems with more than one CAM that can decrypt the same channel. I want to fix these before version 1.6.0. This gives translators a last chance to update the files el_GR.po hr_HR.po nn_NO.po pl_PL.po pt_PT.po sv_SE.po It would be great if version 1.6.0 could have all languages completely translated ;-) Klaus

RFC: Makefile ravamp

before i start to suggest a patch for the current build system i would like to discuss some issues that need addressing. 1. target version: i think it is best to wait for 1.7.0 before changing the build process, because plugin Makefiles will most likly need changes too. 2. which headers need exporting: should we simply copy all headers to $(PREFIX)/include/vdr or only the ones that contain APIs for plugins? what with the classes in libsi, can they be left out? 3. multiple versions: should we support multiple parallel installed versions of vdr in the same prefix like "/usr/include/vdr-1.7"? at least for non devel releases, that maintain a stable API over their whole lifetime, this could be useful. 4. additional dependencies: as suggested by Ville Skyttä, we could use pkg-config for finding external libs instead of guessing their location. currently vdr will fail to build if freetype is installed for example in /opt/lib. b.t.w.: this has nothing to do with the fakt that freetype requires a "strange" way of including its headers. for now i suggest the usage of `freetype-config --libs --cflags` to respekt some peoples need to avoid installing pkg-config. this will also require vdr to provide a vdr-config script instead of a vdr.pc file. 5. ... i appreciate your feadback an suggestions. clemens

floatingpoint exception in mp3 plugin

Hi, I have experienced a problem when trying to play mp3/ogg/wav on a usb stick, which contains also non-audio files. my mp3sources.conf looks like this: /mnt;stick;0;*.wav/*.ogg/*.mp3 The usbstick contains zip/exe files doc/rtf, some python files etc. ulimit -u unlimited ./vdr -P mp3 .... After pressing playall button vdr crashs. No core file was created any ideas? BR. Halim

VDR and sky CAM

Hello fans of British TV. At the moment I watch the FTA channels on 28.2/28.5 E I am thinking of investing £20 in a FTV card for the new freesat service. Is anyone using the card (or the sky card for existing service) with VDR? What kind of DVB-S card do you have (budget or FF)? What brand? At the moment I have a budget Skystar 2.6 in an Epia M10000 powered hush. Can I record HD to disk with this card? The Epia isn't powerfull enough to decode - I am thinking of streaming from the hush to another more powerful machine for viewing. TIA Tony --
