nvram-wakeup problem gueshelper variable unrecognized

Hello, I am trying to use nvram-wakeup with a msi ms-7367 board. chipset amd 690. I have selected U unknown with guess-helper skript. Now I got for directisa acces the folliwing message after running nvram-wakeup nvram-wakeup: nvram-wakeup.conf: 14: Syntax error: unknown variable name nvram-wakeup: Reading configuration file returned with errors. Use of vdr within TV companies?

Hi, are there known users of vdr within TV or radio operators? There was a claim that some TV stations use vdr to archive their broadcast stream and another that vdr is used by cable companies as part of their infrastructure. Are there any references / citations for this? Thanks, Hanno

FF dvb card and unknown picture type errors

Am I the only one to still have those kind of errors ? In fact I'm not using the output of my ff card and I'm wondering if any hack would allow to transform it into a budget card ? I'm not sure to understand what the dvb tt budget patch does. ( http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB_TT_Budget_Patch ) Would it prevent the card to crash ? (in fact it's the arm that crashes, isn't it ?) My budget card doesn't crash even in case of really bad reception/weather. Is there something i can do to prevent the dvb ff card to crash ? TIA --

Improve SVDRP GRAB ...

Greetings! I would like to 'improve' (or simply extend) the SVDRP Grab command to allow for grabbing a picture from a given channel, if possible, without disturbing normal operations basic idea: get a device which is capable of tuning the specified channel (optionally shared transponder) tune to the channel/stream, and wait until data is available (or some timeout has been reached) grab a screenshot (similar to current grab) now, what I tried so far is the following (with little success :) cChannel *gChan = Channels.GetByNumber(ChanNum); cDevice *gDev = cDevice::GetDevice(gChan, 0, 1); gDev->SwitchChannel(gChan, 1); if (gDev->HasLock(5000) && gDev->HasProgramme()) Image = gDev->GrabImage(ImageSize, Jpeg, Quality, SizeX, SizeY); the problems with this approach are: the primary device changes, even if the transponder is the same the grabbed image is black, because the data is not available when the actual grab happens any suggestions how to do that properly? vdr-xine + mplayer-plugin + MPlayer - is it possible ?

[VO_XV] Could not find free Xvideo port - maybe another process is already [VO_XV] using it. Close all video applications, and try again. If that does [VO_XV] not help, see 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers. Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device. Question device number using dvb-s budget

Hello If I have a DVB-S FF cDevice::NumDevices return "0" cDevice::PrimaryDevice->DeviceNumber() return "0" phisical dvb adapter is "0". But if I have a DVB-S BUDGET + XINE (or DRX3) cDevice::NumDevices return "2" cDevice::PrimaryDevice->DeviceNumber() return "1", phisical dvb adapter is "0" or "1"? Diseqc dosen't work with dvbscan

I am in Asia and I have a Diseqc (should be Compatible with 2.0 version) which connect with 4 Satellite, LNB1=105.5 LNB2=115.5 LNB3=138.0 LNB4=146.0. And the DVB-S card is Twinhan 1020A. Everything hardware is working well under Windows system, and now I want move it to Linux.VDR has been successfully setup which I can use it watching LNB1 channel without any problem. ( I use dvbscan to scan generate the channel.conf) But, when I want add LNB2 or LNB3 and 4's channel, it looks dvbscan can not switch to them and tuning. I have spend lots of time Google the answer but can not find any useful solutions. The problem simple description is that the command: >dvbscan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/AsiaSat3S_C-105.5E -l 5750 -s 0 using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' initial transponder 4000000 H 26850000 3 >>> tune to: 4000:h:0:26850 DVB-S IF freq is 1750000 >dvbscan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/AsiaSat3S_C-105.5E -l 5750 -s 1 scanning /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/AsiaSat3S_C-105.5Escanning /usr/share/dvb/dvb-s/AsiaSat3S_C-105.5E using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' initial transponder 4000000 H 26850000 3 >>> tune to: 4000:h:1:26850 DVB-S IF freq is 1750000 it looks response the same result(channel list) even if I use different "-s N" parameter. If, I un-plug the line from LNB2 and plug into the LNB1 on my Diseqc, above command will successful find channel too. update 1.4 to 1.6 -> cutting recordings makes vdr unresponsive

Hi, I have updated my vdr: Old: Celeron 850 MHz, 256 MB Ram, very slow but silent PATA disk, Debian, vdr 1.4.x (e-tobi) New: AMD Athlon X2 2,1 GHz, 2 GB Ram, standard SATA disk, Ubuntu, vdr 1.6.x (self-compiled from e-tobi's repository) The hardware should be much faster now, but vdr turns very slow and unresponsive whenever it cuts a recording in the background. vdr reacts to a button on the remote with notable delay. (I don't remember this behaviour with the old vdr setup.) Any idea where to look for this issue? Thanks, Hanno

First at 11.06 00:19. Show them? At the time this recording is scheduled, only one of my two cards would be in use. The recording was scheduled by EPGSearch on an encrypted channel, where I don't have a smartcard/CAM/whatever for. I'll therefore delete the timer entry, but maybe the error message could say something like "timer on an encrypted channel, but no decryption possible" or so to clarify things. Ciao Martin

[OT] Generic GPU-Accelerated Video Decoding

Hello, just found out at http://code.google.com/soc/2008/xorg/appinfo.html?csaid=ACD6AA025594454A that : "he purpose of this project is to produce a video decoding solution for GPUs that are supported by the Gallium3D driver framework. The project will attempt to implement the XvMC API using the programmable pipeline of a typical GPU, thereby providing accelerated video decoding to a wide variety of hardware. Since the decoding will be implemented using the GPU's programmable pipeline, it is important to note that this solution should support all recent GPUs regardless of whether or not they include dedicated video decoding hardware. It is hoped that this GPU-based acceleration will allow for real-time play back of HD video streams on even modest hardware. The implementation will be developed and tested using Gallium3D's SoftPipe driver, a stable software reference implementation, and later Nvidia hardware and the Nouveau driver."
