So far getting vdpau to work on Gentoo wasn't that difficult. Overlay vdr-xine was used and then emerged xine-lib-1.2 to bring the library up to speed. After that I pulled vdr-xineliboutput from cvs. Compiled and it worked great especially deinterlacing! Only jaw dropping experience there. I have before got accustomed to using the cropping feature from vdr-xineliboutput plugin. Crop converts a 4:3 input to 16:9 format. vdr-xine - skipping audio & video

Hi - am at my wits end!!! I've now tried vdr-xine-0.9.3 with XV and with VDPAU, and several settings in .xine/config for engine.buffers.audio_num_buffers (2300) and engine.buffers.video_num_frames (60) but I still get skips in audio and video when viewing recorded programs - which I don't get in vdr-xine-0.8.0. The skips occur at the same time as VDR console messages "buffering xx frames", and start out OK when watching the program but within a few minutes deteriorate further and further.… [View More]

Hi I've just upgraded from vdr-xine 0.8.0 to 0.9.3 (well overdue) and I'm having audio problems. Plugin compiler arguments / Make.config

Hi there, since vdr-1.7.3, VDR is compiled with the additional arguments -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE Plugins should be compiled with the same arguments as otherwise one might get unresolved symbols when loading the plugin. Consistently, in vdr-1.7.4 these defines have been added to the plugin part of Make.config.template. lirc-0.8.6 moved socket to /var/run/lirc/lircd

Hi list! lirc starting from version 0.8.6, does use the socket /var/run/lirc/lircd instead of /dev/lircd, so all apps not using liblirc_client need to be changed. Else IR will not work in VDR. There are two possibilities: 1. Shell code to check which of the two sockets do exist and adding relevant command-line-parameter to vdr (--lirc=/var/run/lirc/lircd). 2. Patching VDR to check both pathes and using the existing one. Regards Matthias

FF/RW problems with xine

With some recordings FF/RW doesn't work correctly. The video/audio stops and when you hit play again, it has moved to the new a new location. Some recordings work, some don't. May have to do with some channels use 720p and others use 1080i

Broken CAM handling with TechniSat TechniCAM and ORF Digital Card

Hi, my setup : Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 vdr-1.7.9 xinelib 1.2 hg kernel 2.6.31 my DVB hardware : TechnoTrend TT3200 + Budget CI my problem : Two weeks ago i upgraded my VDR from 1.7.0 to 1.7.9 and discovered that the CAM handling with the TechniSat TechniCAM and ORF Digital Card is broken. The Decryption starts and stops after two seconds. Reverting back the changes in ci.c,pat.c and pat.h to the version of vdr 1.7.8 solves the problem temporarily. hi, I have the following problem: When live viewing with 1.7.9 and vdr-xine 0.9.3, this channel (in cable) is shown properly: TV7;HTV:386:M128:C:6900:800+802=2:801=fin:0:0:61500:42249:16:0 If I try to record anything, vdr restarts constantly, and the recording is of zero length. Editing recordings and no instant video update when moving markers

Hello, When editing recordings I am struggling to fine tune marker placement as adjustments made with '4' and '6' keys while moving the marker as indicated by the time line do not update the video display with the corresponding position in the recording.
