vdr 1.7.8 shows wrong recording length

I have a TS recording of more than two hours which seems to have no errors (Project X demux log looks fine). When I start playing it with vdr, the replay osd shows a recording lenghth of only 9 minutes. The same values is displayed in the recording menu (yes I know, this is not a vdr feature but comes from a patch) Is it worth to investigate it? I still have this recording on my disc. VDR 1.7 and no subtitles with old PES recordings

I'm contemplating updating my trusty 1.6.0 to the latest development version, but I can't seem to get DVB subtitles from old recordings to work. Subtitles are shown corretly both when viewing live tv and when viewing new recordings, but when viewing old PES recordings VDR just says that no subtitles are available. I'm using vanilla VDR and the xineliboutput plugin. Replay Problems with Extension HD

Hello, Users of the Reel Extension HD card will know that there are Problems when TS recordings are replayed. These Problems seem to be limited to some stations like Pro7 and even with these stations to movies that are broadcastest with DD 5.1 audio. Now my question: What is different between Live TV and Replay. Of course the obvious difference is the data source (file opposed to DVB device). But what else is different? I am wondering, because i watched a movie without problems, while the recording that was done while i watched it live, cannot be replayed. [OT] ARM based devices for VDR server and client

Dear list, I searched the Web but could not find a lot of reviews or tests about ARM based VDR systems. The goal is to have a VDR device which consumes the „least possible“ amount of power. I heard that ARM based devices are good for this. Does anyone on this list have any experiences using ARM based devices? 1. Since the boards are mostly small one needs to use mostly USB devices, doesn’t one? 2. Is the performance high enough to playback SDTV? It should. 3. What about HDTV? 4. Especially the Beagle Board [1][2] was covered a lot in the press. But it is not completely free, i. e. the specifications and the toolchain is not freely available, is not it [3]? Sorry, if I am wrong about this. If there is any information I missed on the Web, please point me to it. Hello Sorry if this post is not directly related to VDR. I'm currently updating my VDR config after a disk change. xineliboutput: sxfe-reconnect doesn't work

Hello, Xineliboutput from cvs Sxfe as remote frontend doesn't reconnect when vdr restarts. It says that it can't get data from the server but it doesn't try to reconnect. Tcp transport was used. Any idea what's wrong? BR. Halim -- Halim Sahin E-Mail: halim.sahin (at) t-online.de

12-hour time format an option?

I did some searching around but had no luck finding anything on a very minor annoyance issue. Is it possible to provide the user a 12-hour AM/PM time option in the VDR menu system (OSD, timers, etc.)? fEPG offers it in the EPG, but timers and VDR Time are always 24h. I'm betting it's part of some patchset somewhere but have not had any luck finding it. My Google Foo must be failing me. Thanks! -Todd

which xorg.conf for vdr-1.7.9 xineliboutput and vdpau?

Hello List, Playback of arte hd works on an ion based board and vdpau (hdmi) but the playback stops every x secs. Do I need special options or settings in my xorg.conf? Please can someone post a working xorg.conf for vdpau output? Thanks Halim

xineliboutbut channel change judder

When changing channels with vdr-sxfe (remote client on same computer), I get some judder. Playback starts quite quickly at channel change, but then there's a freeze of both audio and video for about half a second before it starts again. Any idea what the problem can be? Relevant .xine/config_xineliboutput; engine.buffers.video_num_buffers:500 (tried 250, no difference) engine.buffers.video_num_frames:15 (tred 30, no difference) engine.buffers.audio_num_buffers is not set, so should use default 230 (?) vdr-sxfe is run as vdr-sxfe --video vdpau --audio oss --verbose --aspect 16:9 --fullscreen --post tvtime:method=use_vo_driver xvdr://127.0.0.1 The xinelibplugin is configured as -P"xineliboutput --local=none --remote=37890" I don't use local playback as it doesn't support all the configuration options that I use for vdpau. Material is mostly 576i. -- -Tor
