Can't use both my cards at once

I've found a big problem: VDR can't use both my DVB cards at once. They're both Hauppauge cards using the saa7146 module (I'm not sure if they both use the budget* modules though), but one is DVB-S and one is DVB-T. I expect it's because they're both based on the same chipset that's confusing VDR. Is there a fix available? I'm using 1.6.0-11 from Debian, patched for Freesat and rebuilt, but I'm willing to try 1.7.* if that's what it takes. -- TH * http://www.realh.co.uk

[OT] Quality and us of DLNA feature of television sets

Dear list, some new TV sets seem to have an Ethernet port and support DLNA streaming. For example Philips Cineos 32PFL9613D [1]. I found some information VDR and UPnP/DLNA [2][3][4]. So my question is, how does the quality compare to other possibilities to connect the TV to a VDR client or server using HDMI or VGA? I did not find any information regarding this on the Web. 28.2E: declining transponder performance or failing hardware?

In the last weeks I'm having trouble tuning to a couple of transponders at 28.2E http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html The ITV 3 transponder (10906V) seems fine by day but with no signal at night. The BBCHD transponder (10847V) has some uncorrected errors that cause artefacts, both during the day and at night. I live near Barcelona, this satellite, in spite being focused to the UK, should be visible with a 90cm dish here, and I have a 120cm one and everything was working fine before (I know that further south they need bigger dishes and have problems during the night). Nearby frequencies on other satellites seems fine to me (even if I could only find encrypted channels, the UNC is 0). Is anybody at the border of the satellite footprint noticing a degradation from these transponders or should I suspect my equipment? TIA -- Luca

There is a bug in pvrinput which may also effect streamdev. (I know for sure that the bug leads to no picture with vdr 1.7.8) Have a look in reader.c There is at four places a wrong assignment. Instead of ts_buffer[1] = (first ? 0x40 : 0x00) || (kVideoPid >> 8); it has to be bitwise: ts_buffer[1] = (first ? 0x40 : 0x00) | (kVideoPid >> 8); @ rob: You are using the PVR500 with NTSC? Did you need to patch pvrinput? As long as the tuner does not support PAL, it should simply return an error and work with the default driver setting (NTSC). PVRInput and Streamdev

I have just got a pvr500 working with pvrinput and vdr. However, streamdev doesn't seem to work with this card. Is this just my system or am I unlikely to get it working? As an aside I bought two PAL PVR250's on eBay (the seller thought they were NTSC). He'll take them back but asked me to ask around if anyone was interested in a bargain in Europeland for these. I figured the linux / VDR community maybe, especially as they appear to be rare. Rob

Subtitling descriptor in ts recordings

Dolby Audio not used

Hello, i am using VDR-1.7.0 with one TT FF Card, one TT-S2 3600 and a Reel eHD. The entire system runs fairly stable, with one little problem: Although i've selected "Use Dolby Digital", VDR does not automatically select the DD audio track on "Das Erste". On all other stations that transmit DD 2.0 permanently (ZDF, RTL, SAT1, PRO7) VDR automatically selects the DD audio, no matter if DD 2.0 or DD 5.1 is active. I can manually select DD audio and that works. When i switch to a different station and then back to "Das Erste" VDR falls back to the "stereo" audio. Any idea what i am missing? Thanks Falk
