I have tried as you suggested but it still didn't work. I am also following this up with Frank Schmirler and have made some progress - the negotiation seems to proceed further and streamdev attempts to start streaming, but the Mediagate disconnects and the retries a number of times to establish similar connections, each which streamdev accepts, but the Mediagate never seems satisfied and eventually gives up. I have notified the problem to Mediagate but I am note hopeful of any response soon. Can you suggest any thing else I should try? I can provide streamdev debug trace if it would help. Thanks, Mark. XXV and missing epg data

Hi I am using xxv with my vdr, but lately there has been strange problem. Couple of channels are missing most of the EPG data. Same data is in the vdr epg file, but does not appear in xxv. I have tried to look some erros from log file but haven't found any error messages. This was what I did found: 853 (200) [2009-02-12 20:39:37] EPG: Compare EPG Database with data from vdr : 55 / 181 for channel 'Sub' - C-0-2-97 If I have understood correctly number 55 refers to programs in xxv database and 181 to programs in vdr epg file. At least most of the channels these two are the same and one can see all event in epg. Has anyone any ideas how to fix the problem? Best regards, Matti ps. Moin, This simple plugin displays the status of all available dvb devices. This could in case of driver problems. It should works with vdr 1.6.x and maybe 1.7.x, but not with 1.5.x or earlier. For every dvb device known to vdr it shows * its type (DVB-T, DVB-C (not tested), DVB-S) * its name * its /dev path (/dev/dvb/adapter*) * its current recordings with their start time and title. Selecting a recording and pressing 'ok' starts it for timeshift viewing. Press the red key to toggle the recordings display. * the channels the device is currently tuned to. The provider of every channel is also shown. The live channel is marked with a plus sign. Crypted channels are marked with a "x". There are also marks for radio channels ("r"), tv channels ("t"), video only channels ("v") and payload free channels("?"). The channels are selectable; pressing OK switches to this channel (without exiting the plugin). Pressing the keys "7" or "9" will change to the closest transponder with lower or higher frequency. Attention: This will break a current recordind on this device! Press the yellow key to show/hide this channel display. * the signal strength and the signal / noise ratio of the device. Note: Some dvb device driver do not provide this info. Press the green key to toggle the signal display. Press the blue key to refresh the screen (and thus the values) * The device which delivers the live view is marked with the text "live" * the settings are retained between sessions * there is also a small setup page This plugin is heavily based on the recstatus plugin by Christian Wieninger and Mike Constabel (<http://www.constabel.net/vdr/plugins.de.htm>). Joe_D at vdr-portal.de implemented the automatic repaint of the screen as soon as channel are switched or recording starts or stops. Thanks. OSD on the 2nd FF-Card possible??

Hello all, is there a way to display the OSD-Menue additionly on the 2nd FF-Card? The background for this question is, that I want to use the mp3-funtion of my vdr with a small 7"-LCD-monitor instead of the big tv-set. best regards Alfred

New version of the Webvideo plugin is available at http://users.tkk.fi/~aajanki/vdr/webvideo/vdr-webvideo-0.1.0.tgz The Webvideo plugin is a tool for browsing and downloading videos from popular video sharing websites, such as YouTube and Google video, using VDR menu interface or a command line client. With the help of xineliboutput plugin the videos can be played directly without downloading them first. Changes since the last version: - The downloader backend is now a separate server process. The user interface is no longer blocked while the plugin is waiting for a web server to respond. - Support for streaming - A new command line client that has the same capabilities as the plugin but can be used without VDR. - Alternative URLs for videos. For example, Youtube module first tries to download high quality version, and falls back to standard version if high quality version is not available. - Cleaning up of the XML menu scheme. New menu items: textfields, item lists, query buttons. - Status page that lists uncompleted downloads - Updated YouTube, Google, and SVTPlay modules to work with the recent changes on these sites -- Antti Ajanki

Hi there, a new version of epgsync is online. With the epgsync plugin you can import the EPG of an other VDR. This is particularly useful for streamdev-clients without DVB card. Even though streamdev-server forwards the current transponder's EPG data to the client, the server can often provide more data (e.g. due to EPG scan or recordings on transponders the client rarely tunes). Note that streamdev-clients builtin EPG-sync option is considered to be obsolete and will be dropped soon. Now what's new in 0.0.3? Besides the overdue gettext support, two new setup options are available. It is possible to limit the import to a specific channel type (DVB-C/S/T, analog) and to lookup channels by name instead of ID. Streamdev Server and the Mediagate 800

Hi, I am trying to stream from VDR to my Mediagate 800 Network Media Player using the Streamdev Server plugin. The MG 800 successfully plays streamed content from the internet, but has problems with a stream from the streamdev server. The URL I am using from the player is identical to one that mplayer can play, e.g. 'http://192.168.0.4:3000/1'. When streamdev receives this it switches to the channel (the dish moves if I am currently viewing a channel from a different satellite), however the media player immediately indicates that it cannot play the stream, and streamdev simultaneously closes the connection. I have applied the patpmt_first_v5.diff patch prepared to fix a similar problem with the Popcornhour NMT which is a similar device to the MG 800, but to no avail. Going by messages in syslog I believe that the problem is somewhere in the negotiation between the MG 800 and the streamdev server which breaks down before the server starts the streamer, but this is conjecture atm. Because the MG 800 is effectively a black box I am going to have to attack this from the VDR/Streamdev end.
