new satellite names in sources.conf

Intelsat has changed satnames and I have changed them in sources.conf This might be interesting for other plugins using satellitenames. Reelchannelscan for example is using these names. I have changed the files for reelchannelscan, you can find it here: http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=60814 http://www.intelsat.com/network/satellite/new-names.asp As of 1 February 2007, Intelsat will change the names of 16 of its 51 satellites. The name change is part of our integration efforts, and is being implemented based in part on consensus feedback and recommendations from our customer community. Hello I found this in my syslog: dvb-ttpci: __av7110_send_fw_cmd(): timeout waiting for COMMAND idle dvb-ttpci: av7110_send_fw_cmd(): av7110_send_fw_cmd error -110 dvb-ttpci: av7110_fw_cmd error -110 What is the reason for this? Dear all, Having been dissatisfied with performance and features of xmltv2vdr (too slow, no credits/category information in epg.data) I have created a new script (based on AWK), that can be found in the attachment. If you want to try it, put your channels.conf.xmltv in one folder with these two scripts, and then run cat *.xml | ./xmltv2epg > epg. My mileage: 54MB XML -> 18MB EPG in 44 minuties (xmltv2vdr used to take 9 hours). Pjotr

streamdev ring buffer problem

Hi! I'm using the cvs version of streamdev. I have a client vdr box that uses streamdev-client to connect the server, and also have several windows machines connected with VLC. It works very well, no problems really in viewing the streams. :) But, if I shutdown the client vdr box, somehow the server doesn't notice that the client has disappeared. Streamdev-server stays active, but obviously the stream doesn't go anywhere so I get tons of "ring buffer overflow" errors in syslog.. Also vdr cpu usage goes to 100% at this point. This is fixed by restarting the client box, but that's not a good solution. :) -- Teemu Suikki http://www.z-power.fi

WORC5 (Wakeup by RC5 infrared RCU) update

I finally got around to documenting the internal installation of my wake-on-remote module. http://www.iki.fi/~msmakela/electronics/worc5/#pci The instructions are for the Hauppauge Nova-T PCI 90002, but I guess that the module could be installed on any PCI card that features a connector for an infrared receiver module. The firmware only works with remote control units that use the Philips RC5 code. Source code is naturally included. The nice thing in this solution is that there are no added wires outside of the PCI card. The computer will be woken up from the ACPI S5 mode (soft-power-off) by the PCI Power Management Event (PME) signal. The document also contains instructions for replacing the bundled Hauppauge infrared receiver module with one that works at 3.3 volts. In my case, this about tripled the range of the remote control unit from a few meters to the entire floor. Marko

Hauppauge remote control and opensuse 10.2

Hello Finally I upgraded from kernel 2.4.21 to opensuse and kernel 2.6.18 The drivers are ok - the vdr-locations are strange. More striking: My native hauppauge remote-control does not work until now I used vdr -Premote and it worked What has changed? regards Wolfgang

duplicate channels
