bug in vdr-1.3.42?

Hello, After updating from vdr-1.3.34 I have some Problems with vdr 1.3.42. When I shutdown my vdr box while a premiere channel is selected, the result is that after a reboot the premiere channel can't get a signal. It is enough to go to the channels menu and select the same channel to get a signal again. The same behaviour happens after reloading the modules of the dvb card. vdrsync.pl -> projectx

Hello, as some of my reccordings can't be processed with vdrsync.pl (I got audio errors and vdrsync.pl kill the audio stream) I would like to use projectx for some of them. I have some questions concerning projectx : is "[-cut <file>] ..use that text based file as cutpoint list" compatible with marks.vdr ? What's the command in order to produce mpeg2 files suitable for dvdauthor (the -m switch of vdrsync.pl) : -tom2p ? Is there an equivalent of "-ignore c1" for projectx ? svdrp MESG while pausing

Hi everybody, I saw on my vdr (1.3.42) that messages via svdrpsend.pl are not shown, when vdr is 'pausing' a record-replay. Is it by design or is it an error ? Messages are showing correcty while normal viewing or replaying a record - only on pause is nothing displayed. I mean (not sure) that the messages are 'queued' until end of pausing. I send the infos of phone-callers by this way and missed it in an 'wife toilet break' ;-) ...Hagen

Hi Klaus, In menu.c:1711: I think , bool WithButtons = false) should be set to true. The info will never go up with HelpKeys regards Markus

Fsck on HD on shutdown, if time permits

Hi, I have a large video-partition (1 TB) and would like to schedule a fsck on these partition during the shutdown of vdr once a week but only if there is enough time (let's say 1 Hour) until the next timer will be executed via nvram-wakeup. The shutdown-script seems to be problematic because vdr is still running and i will not be able to unmount the partition. During startup is always a problem, because there might be a timer waiting. Is anybody willing to give me a hint how to solve this situation ? Perhaps someone allready solved this problem. Thank you /hgm.bg

It contains fixes for vdr 1.3.38 and other minor improvements. <http://www.muempf.de/down/vdr-mp3-0.9.14.tar.gz> NEWS: 08.01.2006: Version 0.9.14 development (vdr 1.2.6/1.3.38) - Fixed VDR hanging for some seconds when skipping songs and fixed pause mode freezing live background when using OSS output. Reported by Andy Grobb. - Now muting DVB audio while using OSS output. - Finaly restored the function of the back key (jumps directly to plugin main menu) (vdr >= 1.3.32 only). Thanks to Sascha Volkenandt for the hint. - During MPlayer playback, the name of the current videofile is now parsed from the MPlayer output. If you're using some kind of playlist hack, the MPlayer plugin will now report the correct filename. Based on suggestions from Ronny Kornexl. - Extended the example mplayer.sh file to show how a playlist can be passed to MPLayer. - Fixed segfault in progress display with skincurses. Thread start functions and external C linkage (VDR starts it's threads "incorrectly")

Hi everyone, hi Klaus, while discussing a paper about multithreading with pthreads, some people pointed out that it is not legal regarding standard C++ when using a static member of a class as a thread start function. The reason is that a thread start function handed to pthread_create MUST have external C linkage, which is not guaranteed to be the case with static members. In fact, many compilers declare such members with the same calling conventions that an extern "C" function uses, but the standard doesn't require this. Indeed, there are (according to external informations) compilers that act differently here. To fulfill the requirements of the standard, VDR's thread start function should have the following signature: extern "C" void *StartThread(cThread *Thread); class cThread { friend void *StartThread(cThread *Thread); /* ... */ }; Don't get me wrong, this is not a problem with current gcc versions, but... Since the standard doesn't require gcc to behave the way it does, future changes to the ABI could affect this region and could render current code unfunctional... Even worse, some implementations of pthread lack a construct that declares the members of pthread.h extern "C" when compiled in C++ mode. (But this won't be a problem here I guess, since I suppose VDR won't run on AIX, so, just for the record). Problem compiling xine-0.7.7

Unable to watch TV when recording

Hi guys, When I start a recording of the current show in VDR, the show stops completely leaving a black screen. The recording plays back fine after I stop it. Is there a setting that I may have overlooked? Thanks, Arnold
