One VDR with two displays?

Hi! Is it possible to use one VDR-server with two "output-devices"? My plan is to use one VDR-server with a FF-card which should display its output via the FF-card on a small CRT-television with analog-sound over FBAS (this is no problem. I have already done that part of my plan.) and at the same time (!) via DVI- or VGA-out on a beamer/projector with AC3-sound. With this setup I could control the system with one remote-control and be able to use the CRT for small transmissions like news and use the beamer for movies. My next problem on this setup is that my VDR-server is located downstairs because there the noise it makes doesn't matter. And the CRT and beamer should be located in the living room. (The connection VDR-to-CRT is already to use. That was not the problem.) So there are two problems remaining: - How can I get out VDRs picture (incl. OSD) on the DVI/VGA-port? - How can I get this signal plus AC3-sound into the living room? The smartest solution would be over ethernet, because I have ethernet in every room. The "big" solution that is obvious would be a VDR-streaming-client in the living room , but are there no other possibilities? Any ideas? one recording vdr and one replay vdr

Hi, I'd like to have a one VDR machine near my satellite dish to do the recordings and another VDR machine to replay the recordings and do live TV. The /video should be shared via NFS. RE: [vdr] Different languaghes on right/left channel

After an upgrade to 1.3.34 all works just fine while viewing Eurosport and Nickelodeon. But if I make a recording from Eurosport och Nickelodeon and replay that recording I get audio channels "1" and "2" instead of the "nor+fin" and "sve+dan" i get during wathcing live tv. Is this expected behaviour or have I overlooked somethins else? Problem with Text2Skin since VDR 1.3.38

I have a problem with Text2Skin and DeepBlue-0.1.4. Since upgrading to VDR version > 1.3.37 logos on the replay bar changed or disappered completly. I played around a little bit and tried to unload as many plugins as possible but the problem still remains. I downgraded to VDR-1.3.37 and the logos were correct again. Unfortunately I was not able to test with 1.3.38 or 1.3.39 because these versions produced conflicts. So I can not say from what version onwards the problem occurs. With current version 1.3.42 text2skin and DeepBlue work fine but the replay logos are incorrect: Replay of VDR recording: - left side navigation logos (replay,pause ...) are displayed - right side double arrow logo is missing MP3 replay with mp3-0.9.14 - left side navigation logos (replay,pause ...) are displayed but mp3 plugins specific logos ( shuffle, loop ) are missing - right side mp3 logo ( notes ) is missing DVD playback - left side navigation logos are missing - right side DVD logo is missing => no logos at all The syslog does not give hints. I remember that there was a change with the replay status in VDR some time ago. It seems that text2skin does not get the correct info which source is replayed so DeepBlue can not choose the correct logos. Anyone a guess? Regards Peter

little bug in cMenuEditStrItem?

Hi everybody, the issue is found in SetupRecordings->Name instant recording: If I edit the item an press enter to confirm the change I stay in the actuall menu, editing mode ist off. On the other hand, if I do not confirm the change an go out with kBack I the menu goes to the last parent menu. I think kBack should make the same like kOK without remember the changes. regard Markus

BUG ? : VDR wakes up additional videodisks while (re)starting VDR and while searching for Deleted Recordings

Hallo, I have noticed that VDR now - can't say at the moment at what version it started - wakeup the additinal videodisks when (re)starting the vdr program, this was previously not so. Maybe it is since the delted recordings are included in the "free" videospace or it has something to do with the caching of the recording list !? The same thing has allways happended when the list of Delete Recordings is created by an VDR internal function - unfortunatly I don't know what function that is. This can be tested with the Undelete plugin : http://www.fast-info.de/vdr/undelete/index.htm Would it be possible to somehow change this ? Normally it should not be necessary to use the [0-9][0-9][0-9].vdr files when creating those lists. The only thing that comes into my mind in this context is that it is used to calculate the free size including the deleted recordings !? If that is the case then maybe index.vdr could be used instead to find out how many minutes the deleted recording is and add that to the free time instead of using the size :) Or somehow check if the videofiles are linked and then don't touch them. A litte Background info. I have got 3 disks in my VDR and it is placed in my Livingroom. To reduce noise and Heat I let the second and third disk sleep most of the time. VDR only knows of the first disk /video and the recordings are then split to the other disks when cutting or reorganizing with AutoCutter. Maybe that has something to do with this problem !? Hi, When I shutdown my vdr box while a premiere channel is selected, the result is that after a reboot the premiere channel can't get a signal. It is enough to go to the channels menu and select the same channel to get a signal again. The same behaviour happens after reloading the modules of the dvb card. I am using a tt dvb-c 2.1 with kernel 2.6.13 Thank Halim

dvd plugin: remember position?

Hello, is it possible to make the dvd player plugin remember its last playing position at exit? So I don't have to seek the correct position each time my children are allowed to watch their movie for another 10 minutes... Dirk

[ANNOUNCE] continue-plugin-failed-0.1 patch

Hi! This patch modifies vdr to not abort when only a plugin fails to load. This is motivated by me stepping over this case: I upgraded imagemagick and did not recompile weatherng and at next wakeup vdr refused to start and did not record anything. The behaviour is changeable in setup. Default is to continue when a plugin fails. The patch applies to vdr-1.3.41 and vdr-1.3.42.
