JVdr-0.0.2 problems and GRAB

Hallo, Concerning GRAB: I beleive GRAB only works with a full-featured card. Is that right? Maybe someone can give an exact explanation how GRAB gets the image and under which circumstances it will not work. there are still problems with JVdr running under Java 1.4. I am working on this but Java does not make it easy for me. I do not have 1.4 here but can compile 1.4-compatible with Java 1.5. Unfortunately 1.4 compile errors are not shown for whatever reason and only come out when try to run JVdr with Java 1.4 ;( A friend helped me with doing some tests. I will test tomorrow in a 1.4 environment at work and then announce a new version. Regards Peter

Softdevice and remote display question

Hi all, Originally I wanted to put my DVB-S card in the head unit, but it seems that may not be possible. DVB-S card will be in a server, and a client/head will be used to display output. Will streamdev allow me to have *full control* of the VDR (EPG/OSD, pause/play, etc) from the head unit? If not, what should I look into so I can view and control VDR from head unit and allow back-end processing to occur on server? I have tried to do Google searching etc before asking, but I didn't find much clarification. Thanks, R.

Streamdev: no sound in VLC or mplayer

Hi, Anyone know how what is the reason for not getting sound via stremdev to VLC (livna RPM package) or mplayer? VDR is in separate PC so I accessed it via http (port 3000 and using ES as written in README of the streamdev). Picture is ok but no sound. However, I'm only able to use ES with mplayer - not with VLC. If I don't add ES to the URL then picture is fine with VLC but no audio (and there should not be any audio). VDR is 1.3.35 streamdev is from cvs (2005-11-24 checked out) Br, Pasi

openmhp problem

Hi list! I have been trying the openmhp plugin a little today, but it doesn't work to well for me ;-) I have installed everything like explained in the INSTALL (Java 1.5 though) and I'm running it on VDR 1.3.36 with xine as output device. But when I'm trying the examples everything I get is the "Loading ..." text on the OSD and nothing more - the logfile /tmp/openmhp-log/<blah>.log is just empty. Is there anyone that have a hint about what I might have done wrong? One more question also. I'm having all my DVB-cards in one VDR-box and then I have another one that I'm using to watch TV. Can I have the mhp-0.3-plugin on the box with the cards and openmhp on the box that I'm using to watch TV on. And the just a NFS-mounted directory to share the xlet's between them? Do I need to patch mhp-plugin in any special way in such setup? Best regards, Lars Fredriksson

Cutting top few lines off with the xine plugin?

Softdevice has an option to trim lines off the top/bottom/sides, in which case I used to trim off VBI data at the top of some channels, is there a way to do this with the xine plugin? or even directly with xine itself thru some postprocessing/cropping methods? Thanks!

Well after trying and trying I saw that using the client with 1.3.38 wasn't working however if my client vdr is 1.3.37 it works ok.(server is 1.3.38) I'm using streamdev-server in one machine and streamdev-client(it used to work) now epg syncronizes properly without any kind of problem and I see the actual epg..but I can't see anything :( ( the client changes the channel in server because if stops outputing image in server if it's in different transponder) after the epg(I checked the network) sync the is no more transfer in the network devices :( why? Andreas Changes since v3.4.2: - For timers that are checked by AutoTimer for start/stop times the broadcast's length must at least match 90% of the original timer's length (excluding before/behind buffers). - Reworked detection of already programmed AutoTimers and made it compatible to VDR v1.3.23+ (Based on suggestions by Jouni Karvo). - Don't crash if illegal characters are used for searching (Reported by foobar42). - Fixed error after progamming a timer if VDRAdmin is accessed through apache (Reported by speed). - If there were quotes in an AutoTimer's pattern and you clicked "test" the pattern got cleared (Reported by The_Pit). - Changed program name to VDRAdmin-AM to make clear it's a fork of VDRAdmin. - Added "Help" and "About" to navigation bar at the left. - Hide "Record" button if prog_detail is opened from timer_list. - After clicking "Record" in prog_detail and leaving timer_new return to page where prog_detail has been opened (Reported by Ferdinand Grassmann). - Timers were re-programmed every CheckTimers() call if setup option "do not add summary to timers" is active (Reported by Ferdinand Grassmann). - Dropped sendEmail dependency. Now uses Net::SMTP modules (Patch by Ville Skyttä). - Don't show EPG images for other events (Fixed by Ferdinand Grassmann). - Changed GRAB so that it doesn't use temporary files for VDR >=1.3.38. - VPS for timers (Requested by reibuehl). - Made extension and mimetype for both live and recordings streaming configurable (Suggested at vdrportal.de). - Understand format of VDR v1.3.38+ "lste" command (Thanks to Marcus Breitenstein). - In skin "default": returning from timer_new didn't scroll to the line where "Rec" has been called in prog_list/prog_list2 (Reported by Foobar42) - Fixed installing of missing Perl modules.
