VDR-1.3.26-31: BUG in cVideo/AudioRepacker while syncing

Hi, while looking at the code of cRepacker::Reset() for adding a comment why I was initializing variable "packetTodo" with the maximum value for MPEG2, I've discovered a bug in cVideo/AudioRepacker::Repack(): When resyncing took longer than packetTodo bytes then a result packet could have been generated with the data collected while syncing, which actually should have been omited. The other changes address the BreatAt() methods which shall do nothing while initially syncing to allow the packet buffer to fill to it's maximum size before it is repacked. As a result there is nolonger the need to initialize "packetTodo" to a certain value. I sincerely apologize for causing such difficulties and hope that the code is stable now. Bye. -- Dipl.-Inform. How to syncronise more than one VDR

Hi, Is there any possibility to synchronise timers between more than 2 vdr? At the moment i have 3 VDR running, one uses a full-featured-card and a budget-card (vdr1), the second (vdr2) has only a full-featured-card and the third (vdr3) has only one budget-card. vdr1 is in my fathers-room, vdr2 is in my room and vdr3 on the roof. All together share one filesystem. Now i also want to record more than one transponder, so i need another kable for vdr2, but i can not install a new one. At the moment i program vdr3 to do this job, but i can only do by webinterface, which is not much comfortable, when sitting on the sofa. I also want to install another LNB for hotbird, so i would need a third cable. Is there any other better possibility? Is it somehow possible to program a timer on any VDR and all 3 VDR try to find a free card in any VDR and use this card for recording? I think i can remember that Klaus wanted to implement such a feature. Is it still planned? Or use a streaming Solution? I read about the streamdev-plugin, but there is no actual version, the last is from beginning of 2004, so maybe it will die in the future. How do you do in such a situation? Two parties in one house who all want to record and view separatly and share one filesystem and can use any DVB-Card? Thanks. Hi, gibt es inzwischen eine Moeglichkeit Aufnahmen/Timer zwischen mehreren VDRs zu synchronisieren? Momentan habe ich 3 VDR, einer hat eine Fullfeatured-Karte und eine Budget (vdr1), der zweite hat nur eine Full (vdr2) und der dritte hat nur eine Budget (vdr3). vdr3 dient lediglich zum Aufnehmen, er steht auf dem Dachboden. vdr1 steht bei meinem Vater im Wohnzimmer und vdr2 bei uns im Wohnzimmer. Alle teilen sich ein gemeinsames Filesystem ueber Lan. Ich moechte jetzt bei mir (vdr2) auch gleichzeitig mehrere Sender aufnehmen koennen, kann aber kein zusaetzliches Kabel legen. Momentan umgehe ich das Problem indem ich vdr3 ueber die Webschnittstelle programmiere, was aber umstaendlich ist. Was gibt es da jetzt fuer Alternativen? Kann man alle VDR irgendwie zusammenschalten, so dass man Timer einstellen kann und die dann von irgendeinem aufgenommen werden (der der halt gerade nichts zu tun hat)? Ich glaube sowas wollte Klaus eh irgendwann mal einbauen? Ist sowas noch geplant? Andere Moeglichkeit: Kann ich mir einen Master-Server einrichten, der mir die Daten zu den beiden Clients streamt? Vermutl. geht das mit dem streamdev-plugin, allerdings wurde das seit 2004 nicht mehr angepackt, ich vermute das stirbt irgendwann. Wie macht ihr sowas? Oder habt ihr nur relativ simple Konfigurationen? Das Problem ist halt, dass ich zwei Parteien im Haus habe, die getrennt fernsehen wollen. Ich moechte aber die DVB-Karten moeglichst sharen, damit jeder auch gleichzeitig aufnehmen kann. Das Archiv kann durchaus geshared sein, ist sogar erwuenscht... Danke Gruss Olli

VDR 1.3.29 'make install' fails if no plugins have been built

Hi Folks The changes to the Makefile in 1.3.29 (and still present in 1.3.31) prevent 'make install' from working if no plugins have been built. Problem with budget and CAM

Hi all, I'm trying to get a budget card with CAM working. [PATCH] Suspend/resume playback by remote control

I patched VDR 1.3.30 so that audio/video playback can be suspended by pressing a remote control key, no matter which menu is open. This patch can also power off the monitor and speakers when playback is suspended. That part is behind another #ifdef. Last but not least, the new "Suspend" key can be used as an intelligent power-off key. If this feature is enabled and the playback is suspended by pressing the key, and no other key is pressed within a timeout (currently SHUTDOWNWAIT, but later it'd be be a configuration option independent of SHUTDOWNWAIT), vdr will shut itself down. If there are pending timed recordings, the shutdown timer will start counting at the end of the last recording. The patch is available at <http://www.funet.fi/~msmakela/software/vdr/index.en.html#suspend> as <http://www.funet.fi/~msmakela/software/vdr/vdr-suspend.patch>. It has been tested with the vdr-softdevice and vdr-dxr3 plugins (thanks to Martin Wache and Ville Skyttä) but not with full-featured cards. Feedback is greatly appreciated. Querying CAM doesn't work

According to EN 50221 an application should be able to query whether a given CAM can decrypt an actual broadcast by sending it a CA_PMT with a ca_pmt_cmd_id of "query" instead of "ok_descrambling". However, if I change the line capmt[length++] = CPCI_OK_DESCRAMBLING; in VDR/ci.c to capmt[length++] = CPCI_QUERY; I never get a ca_pmt_reply as specified in EN 50221, section 8.4.3.5. Does anybody have an idea why that is so? Is there a bug in VDR's CAM handling? Could it be that the CAMs I have just don't behave correctly? The reason why I'd like this to work is because if somebody has more than one device with CAMs that supports a certain encryption method, but only one of them has an actual smart card in it and can thus actually decrypt, it is important that VDR selects the right device. However, it can't do so if the CAM doesn't react on a query. Klaus
