Feature request - video wall

Hi all, Some years ago I had a windows tv capture card that had a wonderfull feature, VIDEO WALL! That means you could select multiple channels (up to 16) and software will scan that channels and shows and updates still frames of those channels every x seconds. Is it possible to implement this feature for VDR, or through a plug in for it? e.g. the plugin will analyze tuned ts streams of cards, grab stills every x seconds from them and will show them side by side in the screen. I noticed that some of the shared objects created in ./PLUGINS/lib have a name like libsubvdr-*.so.$(APIVERSION). (from softdevice plugin). Here is a new version of the cmdsubmenu patch: http://toms-cafe.de/vdr/download/vdr-cmdsubmenu-0.7-1.4.0.diff (applicable to VDR >= 1.3.36) Changes since version 0.6: - Fixed build with G++ 4.1 (extra qualification) With this patch the commands and recording commands menus can be organised hierarchically. analogTV 'channel not available'

Hi. I'm having problems getting channels to work with my WinTV USB2 analog card. I've tried using ffmpeg TS and ffmpeg PES. I'm not sure what my channels.conf should be. Streamdev streaming to quicktime?

Hi, I've been thinking that I'd like to have a "VDR web portal" that's sort of easier to use vdradmin combined with live TV stream viewable with quicktime-plugin on the browser. The web portal could be produced maybe with Plone. I wonder if it would be hard to stream VDR into quicktime using streamdev, probably as MPEG2? Cheers, A. H.

vdr 1.4.0 compilation error.

Hi all, I'm trying to make vdr 1.4.0 with hg-v4l-dvb-7b2efa772750 driver and kernel 2.6.16.11 I compiled driver and symlinked it to DVB and made required changes to Make.config , but my vdr compilation ends with this message. CE -DVIDEODIR=\"/video\" -DPLUGINDIR=\"./PLUGINS/lib\" -I../DVB/linux/include transfer.c make: *** No rule to make target `sys/capability.h', needed by `vdr.o'. Stop. and stops. What should do I now? VDSB when starting a recording

Hi all, I just implemented nvram-wakeup to allow shutdown/wakeup of my VDR box (previously it was just running 24/7). Now when the systems starts so that when VDR is launched, it should begin recording immediately VDSB happens :( If I start the system & VDR without an immediate need for a timer to start and start a timer a bit later, it works ok. As it doesn't handle them very well in live viewing either. I haven't yet tested whether this affects other channels that don't have PID changes too. Idea and Patch: Compensate start time on cutting

Hi list, I usually record with lots of margin before and after. I also cut everything after detecting commercial breaks. This however has two small side effects. First, the start margin time will be taken for the recording name, so its a bit off, like 20:55 instead of 21:00. Second, after cutting, its not possible to see the actual start time of the recording any more. (This is sometimes useful to know to adjust the margins of repeated timers.) This would even have another positive side effect: That way its easy to cut a recording into two parts, because they would have different start times. Well, why not, so today I tried and the result is attached as patch. Unfortunately, a small API change is necessary, so plugins should be re-compiled. I don't expect this to go into VDR soon, but maybe when development cycle starts again. learning keys for LIRC fails on --no-kbd

Hi all, I am using vdr 1.4.0. I compiled it with REMOTE=LIRC. I only need LIRC to control VDR so I started it with the following command: ./vdr -u vdr --no-kbd After that VDR starts, but does not ask me to press a key on the remote for LIRC. Is there a way to only "teach" VDR the keys for LIRC or do I always have to start with the keyboard? Thank you a lot in advance. André
