Hi,
I installed a fresh SuSE 11.1 on my computer and tried to compile
xine-lib for use with xine vdr plugin. I patched xine-lib as described
in INSTALL in xine plugin and started ./autogen.sh.
make then gives me:

I'm not a programmer, so I don't know what to do now. Can anyone point

Hello,
what is the "primary device" good for?
Is it used as output device when using FF-Cards or is it used for channel scanning or what?
I don't have FF-Cards in my setup, and I am getting this error messages when starting VDR:
ERROR: invalid primary device number: 4
ERROR: no primary device found - using first device!
Everything is working in my setup, so I am just ignoring this error message.
I just would like to know what this primary device is good for.
Is it save to disable the …
[View More]primary device using the DVBSETUP patch?
Thanks, Artem

Hello all,
A system question, not so VDR related, but I hope someone in the list use
the same configuration.
>From time to time my system won't boot since ext3 file system got corrupted
and asks me to log in as root and run fsck manually. No bad blocks are
found, just incorrectly stored nodes that are always fixed.
I have 3 320GByte SATA disks partitioned to several large partitions, those
partitions are configured to software RAID-5 between disks and on those
RAID-5 partitions there are …
[View More]2 LVM volumes, one for system and another for
storage.
There are also 250 MByte partition on every disk, while 2 of them are
configured to software RAID-1 and mapped to /boot.
System LVM gets corrupted more often since its used more intensively.
Does anybody here have the same configuration? Or any other software RAID-5
configuration?
Did anyone faced such problems? Maybe someone facing the same problem
without RAIDs?
Any help will be appreciated.
I'm running on Fedora 10 with 2.6.27 kernel.
I had the same problem with Fedora 8 as well.
Thanks.
Alex.

Hello,
I am not certain when it startet (i.e. this used to work in the past),
but when I watch a vdr-recording (or dvd or whatever) and a recording
on my TT-FF DVB-S card starts the playback stops. I am using vdr
1.6.0-2 with patches MainMenuHooks, vdr-jumpplay, pluginparam and
liemikuutio applied. The kernel is 2.6.28-rc9 with current v4l-dvb
mercurial snapshot. Does anyone observe the same behaviour?
Kind regards
Malte Schröder
Hello,
I would like to setup VDR to receive from 2 different sattelites.
Currently I have 3 DVB-S cards in my VDR box, and all are connected
to a single dish pointing to astra 19.2E.
I have installed a second dish pointing to Sirius 4.8E and would like
to connect this dish to VDR.
Is it possible to connect one of the DVB-S cards directly to the
second dish and setup VDR somehow to use this one DVB-S card only
to receive channels from Sirius and not trying to use it to tune to
Astra channels?…

Later on I would like to install one Diseqc switch, so that one of
the cards can switch between the two sattelites. Is this possible
with only one Diseqc switch, or must I use 3 Diseqc switches and
connect all of my DVB-S cards to the two dishes?
Thanks, Artem

Hi list,
I've released the successor of the Multiproto dvb api wrapper patch. As
its predecessor, the patch allows VDR-1.7.2 to be run on kernels without
S2API support by wrapping S2API calls to old API calls.
Behavior can be configured in Make.config again:
DEFINES += -DDVB_S2API_RUNTIME=1
enables the runtime detection (default) (NOT YET WORKING!)
DEFINES += -DDVB_S2API_RUNTIME=0
disables the runtime detection
DEFINES += -DDVB_S2API_WRAPPER=1
enables the API wrapper (…
[View More]default on old DVB headers
and if runtime detection is enabled)
DEFINES += -DDVB_S2API_WRAPPER=0
disables wrapper and runtime detection. Can be used
to compile S2API without proper DVB headers.
(default on new DVB headers and runtime detection disabled)
Auto-detection will be back as soon as I know of a working mechanism to
detect the presence of S2API drivers.
Get it:
