Hi,
after upgrading to from to VDR 1.6.0 I have noticed that the
DVB-subtitles stay on screen for about one second too long. The
difference is noticeable compared to 1.4.7 with subtitles-plugin.
Problem exists on both live-viewing and record-viewing. I use
Fujitsu-Siemens DVB-C FF-card as output.
In addition I compared recordings of a same program from Finnish Yle TV1
and TV1+ (TV1 has DVB-subtitles, TV1+ is same channel with subtitles
"burned in" to video), and subtitles stayed on the …

recording about one second longer compared to the "burned in" video
version. Subtitles start time seemed to be same on both versions. I can
provide both recordings for testing if needed.

Hello,
since the upgrade to VDR version 1.6.0 the entire system will randomly
freeze when using multiple instances of VDR. This issue could be
reproduced by using the commandline switch -D to specify the DVB devices.
Unfortunately there are no logs which could identify the problem .. it
only freezes.
Example:
* vdr = "-D 0 -D 1"
* vdrdevel = "-D 2 -D 3"
I am running the very latest version from e-tobi (multipatch). vdrdevel
is the same version as vdr, but repacked by using the …

option SPECIAL_VDR_SUFFIX=devel. Using the older 1.5.13 setup with the
same hardware (4x cinergy c ~ mantis) is working like charm.
I don't think it is a driver / module problem, because running a single
VDR instance with all devices attached to it won't crash. But when
starting one instance which is only using two devices, the system will
freeze .. even if there's no other vdr process running.

Matthias

Hello,
We (me and my friend from the States) have the following problem. My
friend wants to watch tv programs from Europe, which I stream to him.
Because my upload is not too big (about 0.5 megabits) we used
externremux script together with stream-device plugin for vdr to encode
stream with h264 codec and after that stream it into internet. I have to
say that my friend was impressed, quality was really nice. Now we want
more :-) It is so inconvenient to use web-interface for switching
…
[View More]channels, search EPG etc. And here is our question: is it possible to
use vdr-stream plugin to stream from one VDR (server) to another VDR(
client) h264 encoded stream in the same way as it is implemented in
VDR-2-VDR with mpeg2? I mean with remote menu, epg searching, switching
channels.

Yarema

I tried loading streamdev urls like http://vdr:3000/TS/3 with PS3
browser.. It does understand that it's some sort of stream, but I
think it mistakes it as mp3 audio for some reason. Perhaps it would
help if the url would end with .mpg or something.
So a playlist doesn't help here, because ps3 can't open the stream itself..

I'm not switching to mediatomb now that I have spend days to get
Fuppes working. :) Anyway, with Fuppes I can play any video file with
PS3.
Anyway, if I use "wget http://127.0.0.1:3000/TS/3" to get a few MB of
data and save that as "test.mpg", ps3 will show it just fine. So the
format itself is just fine, I just can't get it streaming..
I'll probably try to get direct http stream support in fuppes, that
should do the trick. :)

Hi,
there is a new version of the powermate plugin available:
http://home.arcor.de/andreas.regel/files/powermate/vdr-powermate-0.0.5.tgz
Changes since 0.0.4:
- dropped support for VDR versions older than 1.5.8
- added localization support using gettext as introduced in VDR 1.5.7
- added german translations

Hello,
even if my english is quiete limited, I really enjoy the program from
the BBC (S13.0E/S19.2E/S28.2E) which are FTA :-)
The only thing I miss is an epg of more than current and next.
Is it a limitation of VDR (I mean does it work for other receiver) or
are the BBC only broadcasting current and next epg ?
I have internet access on my computer, maybe it could be a way to go,
but I would find much cleaner from the sat.
I wanted to try something like loadepg, but version 0.1.12 fails …
[View More]with :
g++ -O3 -march=core2 -mtune=core2 -DPIC -pipe -Wall -Woverloaded-virtual -fPIC -c -D_GNU_SOURCE -DPLUGIN_NAME_I18N='"loadepg"' -I/usr/src/CVS/multiproto/linux/include -I../../../include loadepg.c
In file included from loadepg.c:9:
loadepg.h:20:33: error: vdr/dvb_api_emulate.h: No such file or directory
make: *** [loadepg.o] Error 1
And version 0.1.11 also fails.
g++ -O3 -march=core2 -mtune=core2 -DPIC -pipe -Wall -Woverloaded-virtual -fPIC -c -D_GNU_SOURCE -DPLUGIN_NAME_I18N='"loadepg"' -I/usr/src/CVS/multiproto/linux/include -I../../../include loadepg.c
loadepg.c: In member function `bool cLoadepgOsd::SwitchToEpgChannel()':
loadepg.c:1057: error: no matching function for call to `cChannel::SetSatTransponderData(int, int, char&, int, fe_code_rate)'
../../../include/vdr/channels.h:226: note: candidates are: bool cChannel::SetSatTransponderData(int, int, char, int, int, int, int, int)
make: *** [loadepg.o] Error 1
Which I didn't investigate further, because loadepg don't mention
anything about BBC channels, so it's current incompatibiliy with
multiproto isn't a real problem for me right now...
Any idea on how to have better epg for BBC channels ?
If there is no other choices, I should give getskyepg.pl a
try :-)
