Hello everyone! http://projects.vdr-developer.org/news/135 projects.vdr-developer.org is now hosted on a new server: Opteron™ 1381 Quad-Core, 4 x 2,5 GHz 4 GB RAM 2 x 500 GB (Raid 1) 500 GB FTP Backup Space IP: 85.214.78.111 The server is still fully sponsored by xeatre.tv (http://www.xeatre.tv). Thanks a lot! Thanks to Siegmar as well for providing the subdomain! It's currently running a 64bit Debian/Squeeze with Kernel 2.6.32-5. I also took the chance to change some things under the hood. The updated Redmine now runs under a Mongrel cluster served by the Nginx webserver. This should give it a minor performance boost. git-web has been replaced by cgit, which is significantly faster. You might now also use the cgit-URL's to pull a repository via http. (http://projects.vdr-developer.org/git) Instead of gitosis, I now use gitolite to manage the Git-repositories. I have plans to integrate the repository and public key management into Redmine at some time, but don't expect this very soon. The username for SSH-write-access to the Git-repositories has been changed from 'gitosis' to 'git-vdr'. You can still continue to use the old username, but I might drop this sometimes. I've been looking in my syslog, http://pastebin.com/L3MmV7dh and found a segfault error, is it concerning xine decoding of the h264 stream? >From a quick googling it looks like this may be the problem. Is there's a way do get debug info from vdr and maybe to determine where the fault?

But now to the important stuff: RESTFULAPI - 0.1.0 What does the plugin offer? * A modern alternative to SVDRP. * Full UTF8-Support. * MultiUser-Support * Different-Output-Formats: Json, Xml and Html * Epgsearch integration * OSD-Support * Epg-Pictures and Channel-Logo Support * and much more... Are there any Issues? * No, every known bug has been fixed before this release. But the plugin is huge and we haven't been able to test every tiny detail. * But there is one more thing: The HTML-OSD is ugly, if you have an idea for a better Theme, let us know and I will add it to the plugin. (You only have to create a new osd.css file to change the theme.) Feature suggestion: @include in channels.conf

Hi guys, I'm currently working on integrating my VDR setup with the commercial kartina.tv offering (found no workable reference so I'm doing it myself - will be documented at http://vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/Kartina.tv_mit_IPTV). Because the channel list may be modified by the provider every now and then, and VDR cannot know anything about it, the channels.conf file needs to be rebuilt frequently outside of VDR (and reloaded on the next VDR restart). Since I'd like to see the kartina.tv channels at, say, @201, I have to parse the channels.conf file and insert the kartina.tv channels inbetween. This is cumbersome at best. It would be far easier if channels.conf could include other channels.conf files. Any ideas? I figure with more IPTV offerings on the horizon this is going to become more and more useful. -- Tomorrow will be cancelled due to lack of interest.

VDR Issues with DVB-T Services in Israel

Hi. I'm trying to get vdr working with DVB-T Services in Israel. I think that something maybe off with the transmission because I can watch the dvb-t stream with VLC, MuMuDVB but not with VDR and TVHEADEND. (In windows platform there isn't any issue, working with MediaPortal, MC7) I may add that I've really basic skills with linux and very limited experience with vdr. My goal is to set VDR as a TV server and XBMC machines as clients. I've followed this guide http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=62696 and installed on ubuntu 11.04. My scan template # Initial scan config for Israel # T freq bw fec_hi fec_lo mod transmission-mode guard-interval hierarchy T 538000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM16 8k 1/32 AUTO T 514000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM16 8k 1/32 AUTO Successfully found and config the channels, installed vnsiserver. When trying to watch the channels with xbmc, xbmc connecting and disconnecting to vdr constantly (while i can see the channels listing on xbmc). I had no idea where to find the vdr log file, and didn't knew how to watch vdr stream without xbmc, so i've installed vdr-fbfe plugin run it and got allot of errors, you can see them in the attached file vdr-fbfe.txt. I had no idea where the problem origin, so i've followed this guide http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=45314 to manual compile everything i could, that didn't help. I'm using a usb dvb-t dongle based on afatech af9015 chip running a virtualbox ubuntu machine. I've also tried a usb dvb-t dongle based on ite9135 chip (had to manual compile drivers). vdr-1.7.19 recording issue

I've got round the problem of noty being able to play recordings made with vdr-1.7.19 by removing recorder.c recorder.h recording.c recording.h and remux.c remux.h and replacing them with the same files from vdr-1.7.18. Not very elegant but seems to work with new recordings and in the absebce of anything else............................ Mike

Hello, I'd like to experiment with DAB+ as there are now some broadcasts in my country. Are there any DAB+ receivers known to work under Linux? Does VDR (or other tools) support it? There is little information that can be found on this topic with Google... Thanks, -- Luboš Doležel

Diseqc problems with VDR1.7.19

Hi, Since upgrading to VDR 1.7.19 I have experienced problems with Diseqc. My diseqc configuration uses command strings which contain 3 code sets: a diseqc switch command, a diseqc go to command, and a repeat goto command. Since upgrading to VDR 1.7.19 it appears that the only code set sent is the last one, but it's sent three times. To demonstrate this I have put some trace in cDvbTuner::SetFrontend within dvbdevice.c which traces the complete diseqc string, the diseqc action, and for diseqc codes - the actual diseqc code sent. It produces the following output: Diseqc command list found = t v [E0 10 38 F4] W500 [E0 31 6B 04] W250 [E0 31 6B 04] W15 T Diseqc action = 1 Diseqc action = 3 Diseqc action = 7 Sending Diseqc command: E0 31 6B 04 < Wrong, should be E0 10 38 F4 > Diseqc action = 7 Sending Diseqc command: E0 31 6B 04 < Wrong, should be E0 31 6B 04 > Diseqc action = 7 Sending Diseqc command: E0 31 6B 04 Diseqc action = 2 The same trace in vdr 1.7.18 shows the correct codes being sent in the correct sequence. I note that some work was done in this area for 1.7.19 but my C++ skills are a little weak to diagnose the problem any further. Can anybody throw some more light on what's going on? Thanks, Mark.
