[ANNOUNCE] vdr-rotorng-0.1.0

Hi, The first version of my plugin rotorng has been released here: - http://projects.vdr-developer.org/projects/plg-rotor-ng This plugin allows you to steer a disecq 1.1 rotor, find satellites with a signal meter and to store them at given positions. It also has a rudimentary channel scanner which works with both DVB-S and S2. Much of this code has been merged together from the existing actuator and rotor plugins, so thanks to the developers of those for their work. This is an alpha version, though it has been stable on my own system for a few months. I haven't been able to make as much additional progress on it as I'd like since my previous email due to work and holidays so I'm releasing it as is for the moment. Streamdev to Streamdev with PVRInput card

I have a PVR500 with the PVRInput plugin running on my Backend. I am using an old Hauppauge FF DVB-s card just as a frontend on another low powered system in order to throw the PVRInput channels to the kitchen. On the backend it's all working, however, switching between channels doesn't quite work, as the streamdev server will give the client the same channel over and over again regardless of what it requested, unless the device changes (ie, if I go from /dev/video1 to /dev/video2 it'll change channel). I think this is probably an issue with streamdev rather than pvrinput as it works with Vomp happily. I need it to detach and change channel in order to trigger the external channel changer script. Can VDR record only new episodes of shows?

Is it possible for VDR to only record new episodes of shows? For example, I don't want to record every single episode of a certain show, but instead I just want the new episodes. Also, how smart is VDR if an episode is a special episode and is longer than a normal episode, etc? Thanks, John

Anybody using VDR-Live with VDR 1.7.18?

I'm using VDR 1.7.18 with the latest GIT version of VDR-Live and it's not working that great... For example, some images do not appear and then when I try to access certain links (randomly) VDR will just crash without any errors. I've tried enabling verbose debugging for VDR-Live but it's not saying anything... Does anybody else have these problems?

vdr bug with InitialChannel?

hi, may be a feature but from usability point its a bug if you choose to have a special starting channel and insert or delete a channel before that channel its not the right channel anymore when starting vdr the next time reason is that only the number of the channel in the channels.conf is saved to setup.conf (InitialChannel =) it should be the method as it is used in timers.conf, that way it should always start with the channel originally selected in setup as start channel PS: with vdr 1.7.18

Looking at the data sheet for the new TT Premium S2-6400 hardware decoder card, it mentions a "Video Breakout Cable for analog audio/video". Can anyone tell me if this includes YUV/RGB out, or just composite? Thanks, Richard

adding an analog source to a working vdr installation

Hi, I have a working vdr 1.7.16 installation with a satellite dvb-s2 card working fine. Now I have a separate receiver which I would like to integrate with vdr I have a supported bt878 card (item number 23 in the list) http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb/file/tip/linux/Documentation/video4linux/CARD… Besides a scart to rca cable to connect the receiver to the bt878 card what else will I need to do so vdr works with it? The sky plugin? (I am not interested in Sky, just want to have analog video input from my third party receiver into my vdr box) or some other analog tv plugin?
