I'm running patched xine-lib on a Gentoo system, media-libs/xine-lib-1.1.8with the vdr USE flag. vdr-1.5.8 using vdr-xine-0.7.11 as the software output device. I'm having problems with the editing of recordings when setting a marker, also with fast rewinding and fast forward, pause + forward/rewind. With fast forward it will jump 15sec forward from the start and when going back to normal play/pause, it will rewind 10 sec, making the forward unpredictable. The same goes for rewind. It is 15sec in reverse ahead also, and jumps a few seconds forward when going back to normal play. In pause + rewind the following is happening: Example 1: I pause at e.g. 1:35:32, pressing rewind will jump to 1:35:18 and stop at 1:34:50 when I immediately tried to pause again. When I press play, it will jump to 1:35:06. This jumping makes it very uncomfortable to use the functionality. Only pause + forward works as expected. Example 2: I will start playing at 1:35:07, and press forward and later on press the play button again at 1:35:55, but video will move back to 1:35:50 Example 3: I will start playing at 1:35:55 and it will rewind to 1:35:12, on pressing the play button again it will jump to 1:35:29 (appears to be the same problem as with pause + rewind) Example 4: The video has come to an end at 2:11:08, but it will play on for a further 5 seconds, when the timer is not counting anymore. Example 5: I will pause the video at 1:35:55 and press the marker button, the marker says at 1:35:55.2 but when I press play, it will jump to 1:36:00 The same strange behavior happens with the vdr-softdevice-0.4 (the change in time is a bit different but still the same strange behavior) It was more or less working in vdr-1.5.5. I only have a budget card in my machine. Reinhard Nißl from vdr-xine suggested it is a buffer problem between vdr and the software device plug-in. Your assistance would be appreciated. Theunis

Problems when trying to tune channels dvb-t in the same frequency.

Hello: When making changes of channel within the same frequency with himself not to see them, if I make the change skipping frequencies does not happen east problem that apparently single inside affects to channels.conf of my dvb-t with my other card dvb-s the changes of channel and outside the same frequency they do not give problems. I use vdr-1.4.7 + plugin xineliboutput-1.0.0rc2 + Linux 2.6.21.5 version ( root@ss3) (GCC version 4.1.2 20061115 (she prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)) #1 SMP the Sat Jun 16 15:37: 15 WEST 2007 + AMD Athlon (metric ton) 64 Processor 3200+. Mensages of the system shows: Oct 8 16:29:33 ss3 vdr: [3563] switching to channel 1 Oct 8 16:30:25 ss3 vdr: [3563] switching to channel 2 Oct 8 16:30:34 ss3 vdr: [3582] [input_vdr] No data in 8 seconds, queuing no signal image Channel 1 is : TVE 1;RTVE:786000000:C23D23M64B8T8G4Y0:T:27500:101:103=esl,104=und:102:0:480:8916:1007:0 Channel 2 is : TVE 2;RTVE:786000000:C23D23M64B8T8G4Y0:T:27500:201:203=esl,204=qaa:202:0:481:8916:1007:0 Some idea ? thanks ss3

Hi, there is an update for the remote control plugin. History: -------- 2007-10-06: Version 0.4.0 - Implemented gettext support for VDR >= 1.5.7, i18n is still used for older vdr releases. - If supported by udev, an input device can be selected by pci slot now. [ANNOUNCE] vdr-osdserver 0.1.0

Hi, I've published version 0.1.0 of the OSDServer plugin. OSDServer is a plugin that allows external programs to use the OSD and the menu system of VDR. Access is done via TCP/IP and a simple script language that is primarily designed to be handled by perl programs and shell scripts. Until now, interactive VDR extensions were only available to C++ coders, but with this plugin, script coders can use the OSD too. Version 0.1.0 mainly wraps up bug fixes since 0.0.2, and should now be stable enough for regular use. It also adds support for local variable contexts, a _Focus pseudo variable to access the current top menu, supports an osdserverhosts.conf and allows to configure the port number. FTA channel with DVB subtitles

Hi, Klaus want to have FTA channel with DVBsubtitles. A have 2 messages: good message: channel CT24 have it during news session (19:00-19:30) and many other times bad message: Transponder is Astra3A at 23.5E (12525/V SR:27500 FEC:3/4 SID:8006 VPID:165 APID:100) Transponder on Astra 19.2E don't contain DVB subtitles. EPIA mpeg2/4 quality on vdr-xine

Sorry this is a bit off-topic, but... I'm currently running a Shuttle SK43G with the via/unichrome chipset, running a budget card and using vdr-xine as a softdevice. Since recently adding an LCD 16:9 I'm now running it at 1360x768 with xine anamorphic, to get 4:3 pictures played in the right aspect without black bars up the sides. I've noticed a quality drop in the picture like this. It's all just that slight bit blurred. I'm in the throws of buying an EPIA SP8000EG or SP13000 with the mpeg2/4 accelerator. Has anyone had experience with these and 16:9 through x-windows? Any ideas on how to clean up the quality? Thanks

Hi thanks for this future option, I have the same problem not caused directly by card or drivers but in a multiple frontend system (dvb-s + dvb-t) if at least one provider did not send signal , you loose all other concurrent records It can be interresting to use the emergency shutdown only when there are no other records running at the same time Regards Le samedi 29 septembre 2007 11:06, Klaus Schmidinger a écrit : > On 09/29/07 09:30, Timothy D. Improving quality of xvideo output for vdr-sxfe

I know this is slightly of topic but I am not sure where else to turn. I am using the binary drivers from nidia on a GeForce 5500 graphics card. I have two cables plugged into it, one dvi to vga adapter which is plugged into my flat panel tv then other a normal vga cable plugged into a flat panel screen. Both screens are mirrored on 1280x1024. The effect I have is that overlay XV displays appear to cut and tear in both mplayer and vdr-sfxe. If I use the xvmc driver then I don't get a video overlay (ie, no menus) although the quality is much better. There are no strange options that I can see if xorg.conf. Can anyone recommend anything I can try?

Patch is vdr-1.3.22-Source-dependant-NewChannels-Insertation and it applies quite correctly to vdr 1.4.7. Compiling is ok. Now I should test it. Francesco
