Conax CAM:s and multiple streams..

Hi! I'm looking for Conax CAM:s that support more than two simultaneous streams. I have a 'Dual CA Conax & Irdeto' which only supports watching two channels at a time and I need four or more. Has someone allready done some documentation on CAM:s somewhere? If not, I could document your experiences and share the information. Sincerely Markus Ingalsuo

[Wishlist] Loggingsection in the PLUGIN.html

Hi Klaus, I noticed there isn't any wird about the loggingmechanism in the plugin.html, so you have to search through the existing code in order to see how to use it. Maybe this should be added. Shure, it's not very important, but because there is a common loggingmechanism, it should receive one or two sentences :) Maybe something like (just an idea): ----- If the plugin should print logmessages you can use dsyslog, isyslog or esyslog. <ul> <li> dsyslog prints the logmessage only if the loglevel of vdr is set to the level DEBUG.</li> <li> isyslog prints the logmessage only if the loglevel of vdr is set to the level INFO.</li> <li> esyslog always prints the logmessage.</li> </ul> The output of this log is the syslog of the system vdr is running on. The logmessage can be formatted like printf. Note: The logmessage will be given as provided, the pluginname will not automatically be added, so make shure your logmessages are obvious enough. ----- Greetings Torsten

new transponders/channels

Hi, it seems, that vdr 1.5.9 isn't able to find new channels or transponders on DVB-C. If I switch back to 1.4.47, vdr finds new channels. - Hartmut

local off air tv services

hello all im wondering is there anyone in the usa doing local off air tv with vdr... if so.. what have you done to vdr to get analogtv and atsc digital tv... what plugins are you using.. how are you getting guide info for channel services... i do know my hdtv picks up some info about whats on the service im watching so there is some guide info being broad casted with local channels ... i am using vdr now doing satellite services using nexux-s, sky2 budget cards... i have a usb Pinnacle Systems PCTV 800e and also a atsc tuner based on bt878... i will be using a off air antenna system rotor controlled with pre-amp on a 70 foot tower... any info will help cheers abbe

Convert video clip to .vdr format

I'm trying to convert video clips from my camera (KonicaMinolta A200) to .vdr format, so that I can watch them using vdr, but so far I had no success. The format is MJPEG 640x480 30fps, with PCM audio (7875x16x1). I can convert it to MPEG4 with: transcode -i "$in" -x mov,ffbin -y ffmpeg -F mpeg4 -N 0x55 --no_audio_adjust -E 11025,16,1 -o "$out" but i cannot convert it to MPEG2. Hello Manu Abraham promised in DVB-linux list http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-August/019784.html that in September in hg repository will be Technotrend S2-3200's support if everything will br OK. It's great news. But which will be next step to HDTV-future for VDR project ? h264 and PAFF support ? Regards Igor

astra und hotbird ueber diseqc schalter?

Hi, ich habe mir heute einen zweiten LNB auf die Schuessel gebaut um Hotbird empfangen zu koennen. Jetzt weiss ich nur noch nicht wie ich beide LNB am geschicktesten mit meinem VDR verbinde (Beide LNB jeweils Quad). Ich habe 2 DVB Karten. Die professionelle Variante waere wohl einen Multiswitch einzubauen. Dagegen spricht der Preis und dass er extra Strom benoetigt. Zum Hintergrund: Hotbird ist nur fuer meine Frau, da es hier 2 Sender in ihrer Muttersprache gibt. Hauptsaechlich wird also Astra benutzt, nur gelegentlich Hotbird. Deswegen dachte ich mir ob es nicht auch mit einem einfachen Diseqc Schalter ginge, z.B. den folgenden von Reichelt: Axing DiSEQC-V2.0-Umschalter D.h. ich wollte an die erste DVB Karte den LNB von Astra anschliessen und an die zweite DVB Karte den Diseqc-Umschalter mit jeweils Astra und Hotbird. So koennte man dann falls noetig gleichzeitig 2 verschiedene Sender von Astra aufnehmen, oder astra und hotbird gleichzeitig. Zweimal von Hotbird ginge dann zwar nicht, ist aber nicht wichtig. Ist sowas moeglich? Bzw. kann man sowas beim VDR konfigurieren? Momentan habe ich an der ersten DVB Karte Astra und an der zweiten Hotbird. Ich musste dazu in der Channels.conf die Sender entsprechend auf die Karten binden ueber das CA-Feld. Wie wuerde das ueber den Schalter gemacht, da ja z.b. RTL (Astra) sowohl direkt ueber DVB-Karte 1 als auch ueber den Schalter ueber Karte 2 erreichbar sein sollte. Hat jemand so eine Konfiguration laufen? Danke Gruss Olli

Gentoo, vdr and extra plugins

Hi! Have anybody knowledge how I can bring/use vdr-pluging what don't exists at gentoo.. At other worlds, how I can install transfron (what uses transcode) vdr pluging because it don't exists at gentoo repository. OR, is there easy way to convert VDR recordings to DivX (XDiV?), mpeg-4... And am I gonna loose subtitles during that process... -- JJussi

which card to choose?

Hello. I build IPTV stream server, based on Linux with DVB cards and dvbstream program. Linux takes DVB stream form SAT, divides it to set of single-program streams and sends it to network using multicasts. These streams are received by IPTV SetTopBoxes. It works. Now with FTA only. Now I need to add some crypted channels. These services should be decrypted in the stream-server and will be send to network without any CA. Of course fully legal, with operator smardcard and agreement for redistribution. I have trouble witch decryption. Dvbstream allow to decrypt one A/V service using full-featured card. Its only one, but better then nothing - I can take a sets of these cards. But which card? Does anybody know, which cards to buy? I need several ones, so it should be new card from actual production/offer... And it should to have CI interface and work correctly with linux. I checked wiki.linuxtv.org - but there are listed cards, which are no avaliable in shops - only at ebay/etc... There are mostly budged card in acctual offer, some of them with CI (ex. SkyStarHD), but no-one with support in linux. What to buy? Anybody can help? Boguslaw Juza
