H Guys, i have still problem when i start vdr, vdr come with next error *[vdr] warning - cannot set dumpable: Invalid argument*

Vdr dies when play restarted after pause for long time...

This is something I've seen quite a bit and I've finally started to investigate: if I pause playback of a recording for a long time (i.e. pause playback to go and do something quick and end up getting distracted...) when I start playback again, vdr dies. The watchdog timer expires and it tries to restart but it ends up with one process which won't die (have yet to work out which thread this is, though). Not sure if this is a vdr or softdevice problem but seeing the references to libavcodec I'd be inclined to think softdevice. I started playback and then paused it for about 2 h or so and then pressed "play" again. Playback didn't restart. Trying to change channel then caused the timoeut (or maybe it would have done it anyway). (All of this was done over shh with SVDRP but this looks like it's doing what I see 'in real life'. xineliboutput "TCP: fifo buffer full"

I get a lot of messages: "TCP: fifo buffer full" when playing a recording with xineliboutput-0.99rc5 in the local computer: vdr-sxfe --verbose --video xxmc xvdr://127.0.0.1 Some times the player freezes when starting to play a recording. There is a way to increase fifo buffer? Thanks. Jose Alberto

Xinelibout xine plugin keyboard control using stdin (stdctl)

I'm writing a simple python / twisted app to control and switch between vdr-sxfe (for VDR) and xine-ui (for DVD playback). I'm controlling both apps using their stdin (xine via --stdctl) but each uses a different protocol. vdr-sxfe accepts character sequences which have to match the hex encoded sequences defined in vdr/remote.conf while xine-ui stdin protocol seems to be line based and accepts the commands that are defined in xine --keymap. I prefer the xine-ui way and would like to ditch vdr-sxfe, but I can't work out how to send the vdr specific commands via stdctl. I've been referring to... http://xineliboutput.cvs.sourceforge.net/xineliboutput/vdr-xineliboutput/xi… ...and all the XINE_EVENT_INPUT_* mappings work, although a little confusingly...eg. XINE_EVENT_INPUT_UP = "Up" = EventUp XINE_EVENT_INPUT_SELECT = "Ok" = EventSelect XINE_EVENT_INPUT_MENU1 = "Menu"= Menu XINE_EVENT_INPUT_MENU5 = "Blue"= AudioMenu XINE_EVENT_INPUT_NUMBER_1= "1" = Number1 ...but I can't get any of the XINE_EVENT_VDR_* mappings to work. There are no Vdr commands listed in xine --keymap I tried xine-remote too, but it does not list any available vdr commands. Can anyone tell me how send the vdr commands via stdctl? -- Richard Wall

Leider kann ich noch keinen Patch anbieten, es ist aber für Codekenner eine kleine Sache. Falls beim Ansehen einer Aufnahme versehentlich der Button RED gedrückt wurde aber keine Zeitangabe angegeben wurde, sollte beim Drücken von OK nichts passieren anstatt zum Anfang der Aufnahme zu springen. Hi, Regularly when i zap between channels it happens there's no sound. In that case I have to stop xine (in this situation it doesn't quit instantaneously) then run it again. It's also 100% reproducible doing this: - record eastenders on bbc1 - replay it. it doesn't have sound - try to quit xine, it lags quitting - restart xine, sound is there I'm using vdr 1.4.1, xineliboutput 0.99rc5 (tcp connection) xine-lib-cvs-20060319194500 and xine-ui 0.99.3 --

Hmmm - this seems to only affect recordings though and not live TV? Hi, I'm trying to set my vdr interactive. First question is why are two plugins for the same purpose? mhp openmhp I have chosed mhp. Is the right option? The second is that I have tried with mhp but I can't compile the plugin.
