MP3-plugin problems with slow cpu

I was complaining earlier mp3-plugin is unstable with dxr3. However, now I have FF card on other system, and similar unstability there also. Both systems are with splow cpu. DXR3 is on P350, and now testing with P266. Everything works fine, but then after 5-500 minutes remote stops working, and 5-60 seconds after that music stops playing. Sometimes vdr restarts (with watchdog), sometimes not. On dxr3 system I have tested only with vdr-1.3.23 (http://www.e-tobi.net/vdrdevel/sarge/experimental/ multipatch) On FF+P266 system I tested: - vdr-1.3.23 * http://www.e-tobi.net/vdrdevel/sarge/experimental/ multipatch * http://www.e-tobi.net/vdrdevel/sarge/experimental/ standard - vdr-1.3.17 * http://www.e-tobi.net/vdrdevel/sarge/testing/ multipatch I run mp3 plugin showing track title & progressbar. Normally I have background scanner running, but I had one crash also without it. I suppose recording during listening music makes things worse. I suppose this might be possible to fix, since system is responsive and working, but on some point it stops working totally. Anybody else similar experiences? -- M. transfron compile error

Hi, Ive tried to compile transfron 0.3.2 with VDR 1.3.23 but without success. Diskspace Calculation (Time left for recordings)

hi i know HD recording is rather new, but it renders the calculation of the "Recordings time left" a little bit useless?! i think we need a second calculation for HD material. just an idea... manuel.

1.3.22: memory leaks

Hi, while investigating VDR with valgrind and other memory tracing tools, I found two places where memory leaks. First is in dvbplayer.c, where the Action() code builds a frame from the replayed file (readFrame). If the ringbuffer is already full, this frame cannot be put immediately. If Empty() is called in such a situation, the premade frame is lost. [Master-Timer]: Feature-Requests anyone?

Hi Currently i'm planning a rather large (mostly under the hood) redesign of Master-Timer. So i'm even more than normaly interested in any suggestions regarding Master-Timer. Bis denn -- Real Programmers consider "what you see is what you get" to be just as bad a concept in Text Editors as it is in women. No, the Real Programmer wants a "you asked for it, you got it" text editor -- complicated, cryptic, powerful, unforgiving, dangerous.

DXR3 jams the whole system

Hi, for the past few months I've been trying to find a stable VDR+DXR3 setup. So far the most stable set of software has been the vdr-dxr3-0-2 CVS-branch, big thanks to the developers for that. However, there is still one major problem: every now and then, quite randomly, the picture freezes and the whole system jams. SSH connection doesn't work, but the puter seems to answer to ping. I'm not alone with this problem, I know of atleast two other persons having the same problem. Those people have quite different hardware, so it's most likely not a hardware issue. VDR 1.3.12 and the pre1 DXR3-drivers don't seem to have this problem, but lots of other issues. If you have any suggestions, need more details, anything, this is a desperate man writing, please reply.

[PATCH] dxr3plugin fix for AMD64 cpuid segv

The current vdr-dxr3-0-2 branch of dxr3plugin segv's when run on an AMD64 system due to a problem with the cpuid code. The patch attached syncs the code with a recent ffmpeg/libavcodec/i386/cputest.c and it works for me. I have not had the chance to test it on a regular 32 bit x86 system. Jon

Volume control with analogtv and pvr350

hello, I have the following problem controlling the volume with my vdr-1.3.11, analogtv 0.9.33 and pvr350.0.0.3 (pvr350 is the only card my system). if I press the volume keys on my remote the osd displays the bar and shows the change adding or removing those cute vertical bars :-) but the volume does not change. well, I thought it might be not implemented and did a quick hack to the pvr350 plugin implenting the SetVolumeDevice method. the result is that I can now control volume while watching TV, but nothing still happends (only the OSD) while watching a recording even though the SetVolumeDevice method of the pvr350 plugin is called. I guess pvr350 is only a output device for tv, not for a player (?) and that might be the explanation (TV Input=4, player Input=5). any ideas how this can be improved ? thanks hans

[PATCH] dxr3plugin fix to prevent segv for some corrupt streams

I tracked down a small problem in the dxr3pesframes code which was causing a segv to occur while trying to play some corrupted streams. dxr3pesframe.c contains the following loop which is used to find the start of the first pes header: for (; pos + 9 < length && !IsPesHeader(pesArray.SubArray(pos, 4)); pos++); With corrupted streams loop may reach the end of the buffer without finding a valid header and the subsequent code tries to decode the bogus header data often causing a segv. The patch detects this condition and causes the bad data to be dropped. Jon
