[PATCH] DXR3 better color management

Hi, like Luca Olivetti a week ago, I fixed the bug in the colormanager which caused the color bleeding effekt. Unfortunately I could not compare my changes to them of Luca Olivetti because the diff-files are not stored in the mailing-archive and i was not subscribed to this mailinglist at that time. My changes should not change too much the original performance. I fixed the behaviour of the color-index optimization by introduction of A maximal x-koordinate to which this color-index is valid. This ensures that no section regions are crossed. To improve performance I removed the final memcopy which copied a help-buffer into the destination buffer. After this fix I recognized that the last region was not closed and therefore the last color-index table was not sent to the spu. This resulted in a small bad colored rectangle in the lower right corner of the channels-menu. This is fixed by a closeRegion() at the end. A small change in osd.c ensures that the default color of an empty bitmap results in a well defined transparent color. Before that change i recognized to different colorindices for the transparent color. At least I changed the color-to-section-map-algorithm. The algorithm before had a problem with diagonal edged shapes like the charactar ´A´. This edges could lead to a consumption of many regions with very flat sections because the sectionlimits move to the left from each line to another. My changement uses in the first line of a Region only 3 colors for one section instead of 4. This leads to more sections in horizontal direction but it gives a chance to other colors in sequential lines. This leads to more quadratic sections because the width decreases and the height increases. Does anybody know how these changes can be merged into the cvs-archive of the dxr3-plugin? (my original version is a nearly HEAD version of the cvs-archive) Or is there any other usage for this patch? What is with the change to osd.c? Is this necessary or am I wrong with my observation? vdradmin's autotimer creates false timers

I have a small problem with vdradmin. It's autotimer function creates timers that are named as some of the autotimer I've created but with wrong times. It does create all timers that it is supposed to create but it also creates these false ones. And the created timer has the info of the wrong program but the name of the timer is the name of the right program thus making it hard to see in vdr's recordings which is right and which is wrong (because they have the same name). I have vdradmin-0.97-am3.0 and vdr 1.3.23. I also checked the epg.data that there is no data that would cause this. I use title in auto timer to find the wanted program along with channel and start and stop times. The funny thing is that sometimes the false timer is even outside the timeframe I've defined. HDTV w/ FF card

Major modification of the OSD management in the dxr3 plugin

Ville has committed to cvs my changes to the OSD routines. While I cannot do nothing to raise the number of colors visible at once, the plugin now reassigns unused colors at each screen refresh, so it's possible to use a different set of 16 colors each time. I needed this feature to use the Enigma skin with icons (I had to reduce the palette, you can find my set of icons at http://club.telepolis.com/l.o/vdr/Enigma/icons-low-col.tar.gz). This skin works (provided you use my icons and remove the channel logos), but it's too heavy on the dxr3 so it's not too stable with it, however the plugin should work much better than previous versions with lighter skins. It's also much simpler (even if I saw more places where I'm going to use my scissors). Please test it (but keep a backup of your working copy just in case). cBitmap::Dirty isn't working

At lest so it seems here, but I cannot find where the fault is. The dxr3 osd uses this method to only copy in the osd buffer the changed portions of the bitmap, but I'm seeing problems here that disappear if I copy the entire bitmap. It's easy to test with the femon plugin: toggling between the various display modes, when the signal information disappears it leaves a line under the title. The femon plugin uses 3 cBitmaps, number 1 for the signal strength, number 2 for the title of the signal info and number 3 for the signal info. Bitmap 2 is 22 pixels high. In the Flush method of the dxr3 osd, I put a diagnostic printf to see what Dirty is returning. When I switch the signal info on ("Transponder information"), Dirty correctly[*] gives 21. Switch to "Stream Information" and it correctly gives 17[*] (no character below the baseline, I suppose that the first time it gives 22 since the title is correctly refreshed, no remnants of the "p"). However on the next toggle (bitmap 2 and 3 are set to transparent) Dirty still gives 17 instead of 21 (I'd expect a 21 since all pixels have changed to transparent). [*] note that it gives me a 17 each Flush, maybe it's not correct: since the bitmap hasn't actually changed it shouldn't be really Dirty. Note that femon is just an example, I see similar problems with other plugins (e.g. text2skin). Since the method used by the dxr3 plugin in Flush is the same as in dvbosd (minus the copying of the bitmap to the display of course), I wonder if ff users are seeing the same thing and where the problem actually lies. I've also noticed that the xine plugin doesn't bother to copy only the changed areas, it copies the whole bitmaps in each Flush, I didn't check softdevice. OT: Nvidia display for vdr/mplayer/xine/fvwm2 ?

Hello, a little bit off topic, but I use this for my VDR box... I have a 24" Dell LCD monitor (DVI 1920x1200) and an Infocus X1 projector (VGA 800x600) that are connected to my MSI 5950 Ultra 256 nvidia based gfx card. Without Twinview, I use this config : http://magma.epfl.ch/greg/linux/xorg.conf-independant But with all try I made, I wan't able to put my DVI as :0.0 it always goes to :0.1 which prevent me from using xvmc :-( Does someone know how to set it right ? I have also tried Twinview, with this config : http://magma.epfl.ch/greg/linux/xorg.conf-twinview2 And with this, I can use xvmc perfectly on the DVI, but I can't instruct xine/mplayer/fvwm2 to use either (only) the DVI or either the VGA ??? I did two things trying to get rid of this problem: 1) Installed the latest CVS DVB drivers under the SuSE kernel. No effect. Problem kept occuring frequently. 2) Installed vanilla kernel 2.6.11.7 from kernel.org. Problem did not reoccur ever since. (I installed the kernel 22 hours ago. No occurence of the problem since then. With the SuSE kernel the longest gap between two crashes was 4 hours) So, at least for my configuration, I believe to have prove that a) the SuSE kernel is faulty. b) the problem lies *not* directly in the SuSE kernel's DVB drivers. channels.conf for uk-PontoPike?

Hi, has anyone got a working vdr compatible channels.conf file they could share with me for uk-PontoPike? I'd be very grateful if anyone would be kind enough to help me find such a configuration file - as my old xine one doesn't work in VDR. Best regards, GJ
