sp8870_set_frontend: firmware crash

Hello all, I am currently facing a problem with a TechnoTrend FullFeatured DVB-T card. I searched the web and several mailing lists and found some reports about the same issue, but I did not get the point, what the solution is. I am using the linvdr.org distribution, version 0.7 from www.linvdr.org. >From chapter Others under http://linvdr.org/projects/linvdr/index.en.php you can see that this is using "DVB driver CVS 2004-12-03". EPG info) * item 'file' can be extended with subtitle (if present) pressing key 'blue' * item 'file' and 'directory' can be reset to standard pressing key 'yellow' * when editing weekdays then item 'day' can be customized with a submenu for arbitrary weekdays selection - menu 'userdefined days of week' for search timers now starts with 'Monday' instead of 'Sunday' - menu 'Select directory' now lists distinct items of the following sources: * current recording directories * current timer directories * directories used in search timers * directories specified in epgsearchdirs.conf key 'yellow' can be used to change the depth of the directory listing. - Progressbar in 'Next' can now be switched on/off with its own setup item. - support for language dependent commands for EPG (default loading uses epgsearchcmds.conf, if there is no epgsearchcmds-XXX.conf, where XXX is the language code as shown in i18n.c, see MANUAL) - directly calling a command with key '1'..'9' will now go back to the calling menu after execution instead of displaying menu 'commands' - added a commandline option '-c' or '--config' to specify the plugins own config directory (option). - added commandline help for 'vdr --help - thanks again to Mike Constabel (vejoun@vdrportal) for great beta testing and suggestions, and to Rolf Ahrenberg for finnish translation. One can add own commands for other needs, like adding a VDRAdmin auto-timer. - Add up to 4 user-defined times to 'now' and 'next' - Searching the EPG: Create reusable queries, which can also be used as 'search timers'. - Search timers: Search for broadcasts in the background and add a timer if one matches (similar to VDRAdmin's auto-timers) or simply make an annoucement about it via OSD - Progress bar in 'What's on now' and 'What's on next' - Shift the time displayed by keypress, e.g. 'What's on now' + 30 minutes - Start menu can be setup between 'Schedule' or 'What's on now' - background check for timer conflicts (requires a recent timeline plugin) - detailed epg menu (summary) allows jumping to the next/previous event - support for extended EPG info for search timers Works only for vdr-1.3.x (x>=7). Tested on 1.3.10 to 1.3.24. Parts of the sources are based on the repeating-EPG patch from Gerhard Steiner, who gave me the permission to use them (thanks for his work!). vdr-burn and DVD chapters

Hi list I created a patch for vdr-burn to have recording marks turned into DVD-chapters. I tested with several concert recordings and placed marks before each song. I can now use the prev and next keys during DVD playback to jump between songs. I think this can be very useful so here is the patch: http://turku.wi-bw.tfh-wildau.de/~pjuszack/digicam/#5 The patch works with -p1 option against the plain vdr-burn-0.0.5 version from http://www.xeatre.tv/community/burn/files/vdr-burn-0.0.5.tgz The vdr-burn-INFO-patch for vdr-1.3.25 and above is included so you maybe will get complications when patching an already patched version or if you are running vdr < 1.3.25. During testing I recognized that the chapter start-times do not match the mark-time exactly. That seems to be a problem with DVD burning or playback because in context the position is absolutly correct. Feel free to report any problems or results. Debian Sarge: /usr/include, vdr kompiliert nicht mehr

Hallo zusammen, nach dem Upgrade von Woody nach Sarge kann ich zum Verrecken den VDR nicht mehr kompilieren, /usr/include ist offenbar vermasselt. Ich erhalte massig Meldungen wie diese: config.o(.text+0x3798):/usr/include/stdlib.h:302: undefined reference to `__throw' config.o(.text+0x37a1):/usr/include/stdlib.h:303: undefined reference to `__start_cp_handler' DVB-Treiber, Kernel 2.4.31, etc. läßt sich wunderbar kompilieren, ich hab jetzt gcc-3.3 aber mein /usr/include ist scheinbar "versaut". Frage: wie kann ich das geradebiegen, daß VDR wieder kompiliert? TIA Frederick

I did not write these patches, but I just wanted to post them to see what everyone's thoughts/reactions are about them (if they should be added to core vdr or not). hi maybe someone can help me with this really strange problem. my system has 3 dvb-s cards. 2x ff dvb-s 1.3 and 1x ss2. a psone tft is connected to J2 of the secondary FF card. graphtft plugin uses this card as output device. all that works nearly perfect. BUT: after about an hour or so (can't really reproduce that 100%) my tft (the one connected to J2 of secondary card) show 3sat. Money adds just more storage capacity, or more cards for multiple simultaneous transponders and IO performance to store them, and perhaps redundancy. Of course when going to high definition television, you need fast CPU and graphics card, memory for X, plasma/lcd tv/projector with VGA/DVI inputs. > 2) Budget option Full-featured DVB card, and a looted computer system (you need IDE DMA IO for harddisk). Then add more storage. I would not go for budget DVB card option because of potential problems it might bring to your system. But for budget card you need a softdevice-plugin for VDR, and that need CPU horsepower a bit more. P3/500 should be ok. Then some VGA card with TV-output and some tweaking.

SVDRP command GRAB broken?

Hi, im using the newest version of VDR and tried the command: grab /tmp/jwIup9Caz1 jpeg 70 192 144 But i always got in the logfile: Jun 28 14:19:54 [vdr] ERROR: /dev/video1: No such file or directory Is there something changed or is it necessary to configure this at a certain point?
