I tried also to tune the card into the channel (before VDR main loop) using GetDevice() / SwitchChannel() but that didn't help... I don't know if there are issues if EPG scan is triggered right from the VDR start. If not, could this change be included into the next VDR version? Teemu

mp3 plugin and file sources

Hi list, I have a problem with the mp3 plugin. I do not use playlists and therefor switched the default view to directory browsing. Since an update (I don't know when) there is no way to choose a file source from mp3sources.conf. When changing default view to playlists in the plugin's setup everything works fine and I can select file sources via the green button. Is this a bug or am I too stupid. Suse build here package with incompatible debugging flags to lib-event. It was reported that a perl package from http://www.activestate.com/ work. how to reccmds.conf in background

Hi. I've written a script which encodes vdr files into an avi file, and is called from the reccmds.conf menu. Problem is, it ties up the system until the script has completed, which can be a very long time. I gather the command executed must complete and output from the command gets sent to the OSD. I was hoping to get reccmds to call the script in the background and then use svdrp to send status messages to the OSD. The cutinplace script manages this, but my C programming isn't up to the task! How can I get a command called in reccmds to execute in the background??

Mplayer mpegpes not working

Hi. I'm trying to get the mplayer plugin working. Am I correct - mplayer uses the mpegpes vo option to feed the played stream into a PES stream, which VDR then plays?? hi, im trying to create a vdr-client on my workstation. i have: vdr 1.3.25 softdevice-0.1.2 i compiled vdr and the plugins without error. then i have started vdr with this command: vdr --video=/video --epgfile=/etc/vdr/epg.data --config=/etc/vdr --lib=/usr/lib/vdr -P"softdevice -vo xv: -L /usr/lib/vdr" -P"streamdev-client" and that worked fine, too. i had video and audio output including epg info. after closing this window and restarting vdr, i got the xv window with epg data, but no video and no audio. i have rebooted both, my workstation and the vdr-host. still the same problem. any clue? greetings, henrik

Picture hangs from time to time, no freeze

Hello all! Like some other users I experience channel freezes sporadically since 1.3.29. Some have this since 1.3.28 or even 1.3.24. For me it happened looking WDR, others reported the same (on vdr-portal.de) with Pro7/Sat1/NDR. I experienced this behaviour on a small Epia ME6000 with a TT rev. 1.6 and kernel 2.6.13-rc6, but the problem doesn't seem to be related to drivers nor firmware (that's the consensus on vdr-portal.de). The picture hangs, but after some time it starts playing again. You can change to other channels no problem (and of course they work). I don't know about messages in the log because I ran vdr with -l0 at the time (sorry ;-)). Reception was normal, no rain but some clouds (but we had this kind of weather before and it didn't happen). Someone suggested to remove #define TEST_cVideoRepacker in remux.c, but apparently this didn't help.
