tt-pci wierdness (RequestParameter error)

Hi all, Suddenly on Saturday afternoon, my FF tt-pci card has failed by the looks of it. It's been in the same installation for a couple of years with nothing like this previously. It's in a Via M10000 EPIA board. I searched the archives and found a thread from 2003 where sombody else reported the same problem, and there was a sugegstion of adding 'acpi=force pci=npapic' in the boot parameters. dvd-burn and imlib2 errors

Hi. I'm trying to get the DVD burner plugin working, but have some Imlib2 problems. The logs say : BURN: Couldn't load image /video/vdr-1.3.27/plugins/burn/menu-bg.png imlib2 error code 14 BURN: Couldn't load image /video/vdr-1.3.27/plugins/burn/menu-bg-0.png imlib2 error code 4 BURN: Subprocess watcher stopped When I do a 'imlib2_test' I get Segmentation Fault Although the README says tested with Imlib2 1.0.5 I'm using 1.2.0 because I wasn't sure of the affect of downgrading. softdevice + directfb gives black screen

EPIA system with kernel 2.4.25 + epia2 patch DirectFB-0.9.22 ffmpeg-0.4.8 DFB++-0.9.22 vdr-1.3.30 softdevice-CVS ( 20050823 ) alsa-1.0.9 One installation is based on a stripped down RH9 with gcc 3.2.2 20030222 (RedHat). The other is a Core Linux install with gcc 3.2. I have used the exact same software packages for both installations. viafb is loaded without any parameters ( modprobe viafb ) On the RedHat installation I can run vdr -P"softdevice -vo dfb:" and I get a picture on my TFT. … [View More]

Streamdev questions

Hi, I got streamdev working with vdr-1.3.30, and I am able to tune to a channel via VLC media player on a windows box via URL http://htpc:3000/PS/275. This works fine, however, I am not able to change the channel on TV anymore, and keeps locked onto 275 until I close the VLC client. Is there a way to allow VDR to change the channel via remote (or vdradmin), and thus streamdev also starts streaming the channel I switch to? Also, how can I invoke a VDR recording say from a VLC client? Thanks, Monk.

which USB card??

Hi group. I'm using a Nova-T DVB card internally in my VDR box, but want an analog card to sample video from my VCR, digitising old tapes, and video camera and other analog sources. It doesn't need to have a tuner, ideally just audio and video (RCA) in, and will only occasionally be connected to the VDR box. Can anyone recommend a cheap card with good support? Should I be doing this with VDR? Any ideas? Thanks Simon

Hi, I've a recording box with 3 skystar2 cards in it. I think it is good idea to add new commands to svdrp to make it more complete. for example: RST: to restart vdr program. PDVB: to set primary dvb device or report wich card is set now. LSCT: to list timers that currently writing data to disk. Avoiding the tuner on a broken FF card

Hi :) I have a FF DVB-C and a budget DVB-C, (they're both ves1820 devices) and the tuner on the FF card is v unreliable - I would like to avoid using it entirely. Is there a magic one-line hack for VDR to bypass the device-selection logic and always use a specific device, and hence always force transfer mode from the budget card to the MPEG decoder on the FF card?
