BUG or ChangeRequest : Don't follow links when deleting recordings

Hallo, VDR is checking regularily if there are any Deleted recordings lying around and then deleting them. This is OK and very nice :) But if you use more than one disk for recordings it allways wakes up the second disk even if there are _no_ deleted recordings on that disk! VDR is apparently not only looking for directories with the name *.del ? (find /video0 -name "*.del" -type d) Maybe it can be fixed in a way that VDR is not folllowing links when checking if a dir is empty or only searches for "*.del" directories. It would be nice if the second (, third ...) disk could be left sleeping as they then will "live longer" :) Thanks :) Greetings Christian Jacobsen

multiple sats on multiple cards

Hi all, I have a vdr box with 2 skystar2 cards. The problem is, when I connect one of them to hotbird lnb and another to telestar lnb, I can switch primary dvb interface to scan each card. but when , for example my primary card is one connected to hotbird and I define a new timer on the card connected to telestar, vdr hangs and reset it self. It seems it want to record the defined timer in primary card, but the channel doesn't exist here and it hangs. if I define first a timer in a channel on my primary dvb card and make it busy, the second card will go to record correctly, but this action is a pain. Is there any way to force vdr understand which sat is connected to which card? I don't have any diseq in the path. Thanks.

Hi, A nice new patch arrived at VDR-Portal: http://www.vdr-portal.de/board/thread.php?threadid=37309&sid=&hilight=live%… With this Patch VDR can do permanent timeshift, so you can see the last scene again whenever you want :-) I know Klaus, you won't like the question, but do you see a chance of integrating it in 1.3. x ? It would be great to see this feature in a stable 1.4. release. --------- Helmut Auer

Feature request: suggestion for cPlugin

Hi Klaus, I was asked, if I could expose some functionality of epgsearch (searching the EPG, calling the extended timer edit menu) to other plugins. I plan to do this, like the timeline plugin does to check for timer conflicts in other plugins: bool cPluginTimeline::ProcessArgs(int argc, char *argv[]) { // Implement command line argument processing here if applicable. if (argc==1 && argv!=NULL && !strcmp(argv[0],"timeline_command_interface") && !strcmp(argv[1],"conflicts")) { // yes, this is an ugly hack! return hasConflicts(); } return true; } As you see, it uses the ProcessArgs function for this. Not very nice, but I think it's currently the only way. Would it be possible, to add a new function to cPlugin, like 'Interface', that works the same way, but is intended for this special job? It should also have a variable argument list. This would even allow to return pointers to cOsdMenus. Why reinvent the wheel, if any other plugin already does the job? ;-) BR, Christian

Hi, this version adds one small, but long missing feature, no longer sabotages auto-shutdown and fixes some more or less cosmetic issues. It is available from http://www.wiesweg-online.de/linux/vdr/vdr-osdteletext-0.5.1.tgz Here is the detailed changelog: - show page if it was initially not found but is received later (suggested by Luca Olivetti) - added timeout for user inactivity after which the plugin is closed. Without timeout the plugin would prevent VDR's auto-shutdown mechanism if it remains open. The value is the same as VDR's min user inactivity setup option. (suggested by Peter Bieringer) - fixed gcc4 warnings (thanks to Ville Skyttä) - updated Finnish translation (thanks to Rolf Ahrenberg) - added command line parameter documentation to READMEs - added /var/cache/vdr/osdteletext to the list of recommended cache directories (suggested by Ville Skyttä) Have fun Marcel

Hi, when I set the epg-scan timeout to something greater than 0, VDR crashes reproducible. Attached is a piece of the log when it happened. I was watching a recording. I tried a clean VDr install without patches, only remote plugin. I use kernel 2.6.13-rc6 (same problem with 2.6.12.x), primary device is a TT Rev.1.5 FF DVB-S, secondary is an AirStar2 DVB-T. Any clue what could cause this? [Patch] dvd-plugin: Consider VideoDisplayFormat setting when playing DVDs

Hi there, the attached patch file enables the dvd plugin to scale the DVD video according to VDRs "VideoDisplayFormat" setting in Setup|DVB. The Diff is against the actual dvd-cvs, but 0.3.6-b03 should also work (VDR >= 1.3.25). Maybe, someone finds this useful, too. Regards, Joachim.
