not stopping any more

Hi, Remember those stopping in the night issues I was having earlier in the year? Well it was the skystar2 module not VDR. I have upgraded to 2.6.13.2 and it is fixed. VDR did lose the lock during the night but when I focused the terminal it started again -> "SetPlayMode: 1"! Back to normal so I am about to start on my Fedora Core live CD. Softdevice error on execution

Hi all, I have done a re-install of Debian testing/unstable -- its a completely new install. After installing my Nvidia config and alsa config for 2 sound cards, etc., and loading all of the libraries needed that I could find in the readme's, I'm getting an error when I run VDR: vdr: ./PLUGINS/lib/libvdr-softdevice.so.1.3.24: undefined symbol: dts_frame I've verified that XV is enabled and that I have the libraries installed that it suggests but did I miss one? Anyone see this error before? Thanks Norm

status class extensions?

Hello, I want to create a plugin which informs other applications about vdr status changes. This is no problem for start/stop of recording and replaying. But I want also detect other status changes without "polling" the vdr structures. Now my questions/wishes: - It would be nice to extend the cStatus class with some more events (such as adding, removing or changing timers or channels, change of the next active timer, disk full warnings, deletion of recordings). - Plugins can iterate on timer and channel lists. But I think, this lists are not thread safe for concurrent iterating and modifying by vdr and plugins with own threads. Klaus - how do you think about this? Hi, do you know if there is a plugin that works like streamdev-server but use udp connection instead of http/tcp : I try to use a wifi network where collision/bandwidth is limited. thanks Matthieu

Patch #3: Return from commands menu

Hi list, I'll be releasing this and a few other patches for VDR 1.3.33, which have evolved during the last months while working on XeatreOS (a distribution based on LinVDR 0.7, which is used for the Xeatre boxes, http://www.xeatre.tv/). Some of their functionality may already be included in plugins or other patches. Nevertheless, I'd like to release them now, and let everybody decide whether they are useful or not. This patch modifies the commands menu. After a command with output is executed, when the user presses Back, VDR jumps back to the recordings menu instead of the commands menu. vdr-1.3.33, list of recordings is still empty

@Klaus I have a nfs-mounted video-dir which is mounted after vdr is started (to realize very short boot times). One of the last commands in the startup script is a `touch .update` which used to work without problems. In the latest version the list of recordings is still empty, even if I try to touch the file more then one time. :-( But, a test with `echo "LSTR" | nc localhost 2001` (nc is the netcat-version of busybox) gives me a list of all recordings. Unfortunately this has no effect on the OSD-Listing. How can I force a complete reload? Alfred

fbxine started from commands.conf causes high cpu load

I want to start fbxine with the remote control. In commands.conf I have an entry "start fbxine : at -f /z/ss now" and ss contains #! /bin/sh fbxine -V vidixfb -A alsa --stdctl vdr://video/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes In keymacros.conf the button of the remote is linked to the line in commands.conf. When I start ss from the console everything is fine, but when I start it with the remote, I get very high cpu-load from fbxine. Is this a problem of fbxine or of vdr? Is there a solution? Jörg

Patch #5: Fix Crash on PPC
